Er... that was meant to be a chicken, because you are chicken to sing...

Let me just... er... fix those up...

pough,

Thanks for the information. I know what my birthday present will be, though it might be late due to demand.

I think you just sold at least 40 mics or so for KEL Audio.

But... but I'm the only one here who's heard it in action! :? Apart from some guy talking into it!

Post

But...You've got the mic-you're the expert! We are the lemmings and will follow you anywhere. I'll have to check with my wife about the trip to Japan though.

This is exactly how I got every job I've had in the last 20 years.

Hey, We're starting a new company, Doug, it will probably be here next year, wanna' work here too?

O.K.

Yay! We're all going to Japan and buyng KEL mics!

But not in that order. :hihi:

I promise I will post audio clips within the next few days. Even if they suck. Remember: you asked for it!

Post

Sheesh!

My wife says go ahead on the mic but NO WAY on the trip to Japan! Boy can she be STRICT sometimes! Something about mortgages, inviting myself around the world with perfect strangers and Blah, blah, blah.

As soon as I turn 52, things are changing.

Well. I've managed to do something. I really like the sound of this mic, but my singing and playing are atrocious. Particularly my guitar playing. My timing is way off. Bleh.

Bonus points to whomever recognizes the song.

I have only bothered to use the KELAudio HM-1. No comparison. Not any time soon, anyways. I've had a very frustrating night, trying to record.

Drums are DFH. Guitar is a Tacoma Roadking RM6C. Voice is laughable. Everything has Voxengo Voxformer for compression and just a touch of EQ. Wave Arts Masterverb gives everything a little room.

Interesting stuff. ;-)

Thanks for giving it a try! For my part, I still think that mic placement and other parts of the signal chain will have too much effect on the final sound in order for a real 'estimate' of the sound to be accurate, but I know this--

That microphone works for picking up sounds.

:D

And your efforts are actually quite cool. I enjoyed what little there was. :D

So what, exactly, were you waiting for? :? :P

It doesn't really matter to me. I only hope that this doesn't end up doing some kind of reverse-marketing for KEL Audio...

Post

pough, I think there's been a misunderstanding...

We didn't want to know how it sounded, we just wanted to find out if parts would fall off the first time it was picked up.

 Not that I have noticed.

Me? I wasn't waiting for anything. I'm quite content just with your written opinion. :D Thanks for sharing your song, though-- sucks to hear that it was not an enjoyable experience for you.

For a while it felt like someone had written a comedy that I was starring in, unbeknownst to me. Everything that could have gone wrong, went wrong for me. Half the reason I don't care much for the results is because I just didn't have the heart to be a perfectionist when it seemed as though fate was going to resist all my efforts, anyways.

Now I have spent a long time waiting for my friend to finish watching a movie so we can go out to get some exercise. Except I have been totally wasting my time. He's not coming. And I have waited so long that I just feel like going to bed, instead.

Today is over. At least I have that much going for me.

Oh, and while I was waiting for nothing at all, I did this:

It's probably more the camera than the random, crappy lighting in this room! I guess I approached the lack of good lighting as a feature and not a bug. :hihi:

Are you asking who wrote it or who performed it? I sang and played the guitar parts. I don't know who wrote it, but I'm hoping someone will be able to guess where I learned it!
