Can we still select our own vst destination path for vst installs?

Post

Hi Kirsty

I've been having fun with the 32-bit version of Analogy, and
since I'm using Reason 10 as my DAW, I've been looking forward
to the 64-bit version. Reason only accepts v.2.4, 64-bit VST's.

The 64-bit version (v0.96) loads in Reason, but when I open the
GUI, it only gives me a closed, non-resizable window.
It can play the default preset, but since there is no GUI, I can
not change presets or create my own.

I have tried to place the plugin on these paths:

C:\Test\VSTPlugins\
C:\Program Files\VSTPlugins\

But the problem persists :?:

I hope it can be fixed, but anyway, thank you for a brilliant
and generous project!

Best regards
Kurt

Yes.

You can put the Analogy.dll and any saved presets/banks anywhere on your hard drive.
Currently it only looks for its config.txt and user skin etc... files in:-
C:/Vst/Plugins
C:/Program Files/VSTPlugins
C:/Program Files/Steinberg/VSTPlugins
C:/Program Files/Common Files/VST2
In fact Analogy can run alone without any of the extra stuff, but with limited options.

You can put the plugin anywhere. Sorry it wont run in Reason :(

I looked at there website to try the demo but the specs say it's 4GB + 8GB for extra stuff and I just can't
afford to use up that much disk space on my already stuffed 240GB SSD for a demo.
Would you be able to try another DAW. The 64bit versions of MuLabs (31MB) and Reaper (13MB) both work for me.

Hi again

Thank you for your fast response!

I have tried it in other VST hosts (VSTHost, Element) and it works,
so it could be a Reason issue? I have actually considered Reaper as
my second DAW, and I have no doubt that it will work there, so I
can use it in many other ways than directly in Reason 8)

And yes, Reason is huge when you install the whole package, so don't.
I will of course be testing new versions in Reason, and if it works
I will let you know. Also, if you have anything for me to test in
Reason, I will only be too happy to do so :)

Best regards
Kurt

So I'm currently working on a dynamically resizeable window for Analogy and am up to 4K (3840 x 2160).
Do you think I need to support higher resolutions or is that enough :?:

Hi Kirsty. I tested 64bits version , but don't work in "Studio one" :? when I load/open plugin, there's a "short parazit noise" , then i've sound but can't move no knobs ! :( and CPU angry ! (..disappointad because the GUI better than 32bits version )

The old 32bit download is still on my blog page but no longer updated/supported.

As it works OK in other hosts, it must be an issue with Studio One.
I've had a look at the Presonus website and see that Studio One 4 Prime is free, providing I sign up to
a presonus account and download a 1GB DAW file, but I'm not prepared to do that just to test it out as
I've only got 14GB left on my already stuffed SSD.

Sorry I've been a bit slow lately. I've got a bad cold and chest infection (doc's got me on antibiotics) so
I've not done much programming lately, however, I'm getting ready to release an v0.970 update soon.

Regards
Kirsty

Hi there, I checked out the plugin, and it is very nice... sounds great,
I am using the 64 bit version, (Win 10), and I am having GUI issues in both Orion and Cubase. The GUI is "frozen" and does not move. I can click and get the menu, and I can change presets (though the presetname does not update in the GUI )
I read above that it is working in some DAW, and not in others...
Looking forward to seeing if this is a fixable, as I really like the possibilities of this synth..
Cheers, and all the best... nice work
