Music can no longer soothe the worried thoughts of monarchs; it can only tell you when it's time to buy margarine or copulate. -xoxos

With all this talk about lack of support from parents, I wonder how many fathers/mothers here are encouraging their children? I was teaching my son the rudiments, but he got into dancing, instead. So I encourage that... But for him it's all just a hobby.

IMO kids should have an opportunity to try different hobbies. For example my 2 oldest girls were like "dad we want to go to dance classes". Well, I took them to a dance class and after one time, they were like "okay, the thought of a dance class was more fun than the actual dancing". Which is nice it'd have cost a fortune :D
