hehe... well yeah... it really is good...

I bought the MBox and thought I wouldn't use Pro Tools anyway... but with all those plugs (Bombfactory Peak Limiter [which sounds awesome], Amplitube LE [which is nice] etc.) it would have been a miss....

I tried it and could stand switching from one window to the other Mix / Edit window....

BUT... it can all be done within the edit window.... now it's as simple as Tracktion (well slightly more cluttered but still easy and great... and some unique and cool editing features, too

have a look:

Hey Gordon......

no no.... I wil never leave you guys behind... (let alone getting famous)... I'm just trying to figure out which host is the best for me.....

workflow
features
fun

when considering workflow: tracktion wins... (but now pro tools is pretty close) fun: flstudio is definitly a winner (but I haven't figured it out yet to check if it's more then that.....) features: pro tools comes with a whole lot of cool plug-ins and it's editing features are great... haven't tested MIDI so far but will report if it's great or not

cheers,
mully

btw.. my hair is getting longer and longer again :D

:hihi:

yeah we'll do that - we'll definetly do that - after Manc and after I moved to my new home..

well the thing about Pro Tools is it has one really big flaw (doesn't run without the MBox being conected)

but the supplied RTAS plug-ins alone are worth the trouble.... the Bombfactory Limiter is awesome....

Alex,

Fruity gets under your skin doesn't it.

Lesson in eXT. Where? The only thing holding me back with this is my laziness. I have the manual but can't get into it

Yay Gordon.... come over to HunLand for a visit and we'll drive to jens and get a eXT lesson from him.... :D

well Fruity is fun but somehow I don't get the patern thingy..... but it's the first host that made me put my Laptop on my lap before going to sleep (but already lying in bed) and playing M-Tron with the PC Keyboard (and record it)... this is the best feature to me (so far)... I really wish every host would have this

The playlist implementation is key in Fruity I think. This is a good tutorial that makes it clear. I find that using the zoom tool is also key. PM me and I will answer any questions you might have. Fruity is one host I do know quite well.

Cheers,
Gordon

umm... for the record, the way pro tools functions has been the same pretty much since it was a 2 track editor, just the GUI has gotten more bubbly or XP/OSX like in recent updates. it's always used the edit/mix window formula for workflow. just wanted to point that out as you kept saying "the way it is now", not trying to be a dick or anything. as far as midi, god forbid you should have to do any significant programming in their excuse for a piano roll. yuck. the audio editing is still pretty slick though, that's the only thing i'll ever give it, solid audio editing. wish apple would address that in logic soon ;)

well I ment the way it is now looking on my desktop... before I always switched from mix to edit and back..... with the current layout (well the one shown in my picture) I don't have to anymore.......

well MIDI and VSTis are only song fillers for me..... I write all my songs with guitar and vocals... the rest is just BEIWERK to make it more interesting.....

I for one never thought Tracktions MIDI capabillities were limited... they always offered what I wanted...
