I keep FL around (not much choice on the matter) and check it out every now and then, but it feels so alien compared to Studio One, which is my primary DAW. If I had started with FL as my first DAW (rather than Reason), I would probably feel much more comfortable with it.
Take a single oscillator, producing a drone. Send it to the wave shaper, altering the tone.
This can be a triangle, Sawtooth or a square. Modulate the pulse width, nobody will care

You'll be served updates for the rest of your life though. :)

Or... for the rest of the life of the software. Whichever comes first. :hihi:

I started with FL-Studio. Thanks to FL-Studio I kept producing. Yes it is a familiar environment but I like to leave it.

I understand why it seems alien to you. The pattern system is supposed to be kind of handy, in fact you can build something very quickly, but somehow it's not the real thing for me. I always go to the piano roll anyway.

Luckily I was able to use the shortcuts from FL-Studio with Reaper, so I don't have much of a change.

But it makes easier for me to leave FL-Studio lying around.

FL Studio performs more like a midi editor with the ability to use patterns, etc. There is a big disconnect when working with audio. The inability to work directly with audio on the timeline is a show stopper.
It's not the quality of audio, it's the quality of production that matters.

Yeah, I must admit that FL Studio is quite alien to me. But, fair enough, good thing we have the variety, and something for every taste/workflow.

I still open it occasionally, but it never takes long before I get annoyed by the horrible workflow and endless menu diving. Things that can be done in other DAWs with only one or two mouse clicks often take 20 mouse clicks to do in FL Studio.
