there's no need to be rude. If you're an audio super expert, just don't watch this video.. Are you pretending to be ironic? It's just more fun to have to do with people like you who believe themselves to be the center of the world when they probably arent not even in the center of their wc.whyterabbyt wrote: Wed Jan 29, 2020 11:02 amWow. Cant imagine anyone around here has ever tried anything like that. Im sure people will be queuing up to here about this fascinating notion and get some insight.creativesauce wrote: Wed Jan 29, 2020 10:57 am Hi folks! Would you like to know the full process of recording a song from scratch, through to release on Spotify, iTunes etc? All from a home studio?

There was no internet when I was 18, that’s why I wrote songs. Now I watch Netflix.thecontrolcentre wrote: Fri Jan 31, 2020 4:39 pmWow. You should make a youtube series about itSLiC wrote: Fri Jan 31, 2020 3:26 pm It all used to be so simple, pick up acoustic guitar, press play and record on my Fostek 4 track tape deck, start strumming and singing....3 minutes later I had recorded a song from beginning to end!![]()

I see both sides. Guy is trying to make a living off of music production videos, and can’t knock him for it. On the other hand, the market is so saturated, ALL CAPS TITLES, shilling channels, etc...gets old. Really has created a weird time for music production. Some people are rubbed the wrong way by the new music production saturation. Both sides have valid points. Then the shitstorm follows.

I knock him for spamming this board with his videos threads and not taking any further involvement, if he posted any of his videos as genuine response to someone, no big deal, he took chance for little self promotion, plenty of folks here does it, but that's not the case obviously.

I agree that the OP could participate more in the forum, rather than just making self-promoting posts.
Not a good way to build a following, and it does invite sarcastic comments. There's nothing in the rules saying you can't be a self-promoter, within reason and on appropriate music-related topics. This is in the rules, though:
Members should post in a way that is respectful of other users. Flaming or abusing users in any way will not be tolerated and will result in your post being edited / deleted, and you may be issued with a warning and / or a ban.
One thing to think about: every time someone replies to one of his threads, it pushes that thread up to the top of the listings and pushes down others that you probably consider more worthy.
My recommendation would be to have a quick snark, then let it be. But that's just, like, my opinion, man; as long as things stay reasonably civil, as per the rule I quoted above, post away.

The all caps thread title is a little rude too. I think someone who is trying to monetize something online would be aware of the implications of posting in all caps.

I'm all for learning to mix, all the advice is welcome, but, would it be a better option to take advice from someone with credentials?
I'm not saying others don't have useful information, different levels I suppose. That said, I enjoy The Loft Tapes on YT. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL0JJLmbk6eSMOlutJpoT3H-jqDBcDXQY1

Hi folks! Whoa, lots to read there. Sorry about the caps - lesson learned! I do try to respond the queries about my videos here when I have time, but I'm a answering questions across many social media platforms. However, there are some good points made in this thread about the way I could adapt my behaviour, so thank you for your input - I'm learning about social media always.
If anyone has questions about the series, please feel free to ask!
P.S One issue I have is how to get email notifications about replies in KVR - any help appreciated!

Hey, it’s cool to see you come back to the thread. I think what we see a lot here is people dumping a link to their YouTube video and then they’re never seen in the thread again, so glad to see you’re back.
You can subscribe to this topic from the pull down menu under the wrench, then under Board Preferences->Edit Notification Options you can check the email box for ‘ Someone replies to a topic to which you are subscribed’.
I think you can also edit the thread title by going back to the first post, clicking the edit pencil, changing from all caps then submitting.

Thanks to Forgotten for help with social media etiquette and forum tools! Life is too short for me to deal with negativity folks, and my energies are better spent in my studio
But if anyone starting out has some genuine questions about the process of recording, mixing, and releasing a song - I'm very happy to reply here!
Many thanks!
Mike
