Have an prob with the render to wav or write to disk option in orion platinium

I want to render an 4 bar Vsti seq...playing back all ok..but when i write this loop to disk it was not ready loopable in Ableton Live

It has not the right beginning and endings..it seems that some ms from the loop gets cut

I don´t uses any deleay or fx from the Vsti
I want to use the write to disk option to save cpu and playing back via live

someone get an answer ?

many thx

If you render a loop to wav, but have effects with a decay tail then there is the possibility that the loop will not render to the correct length because Orion will render the loop only and not the complete decay tail, so that the lopps should match up for time but will give an audible glitch as the decay portion of the effect (which would overlap the next cycle of the loop) is lost. You could try looping with an extra bar at the end that contains no data and then overlapping the start of 1 loop cycle with the end of another. I tried this on a couple of occasions and it works fine.
Have a better one - Saul Cross :-)

Try this: go into the playlist and put an instance of your 4-bar pattern in the grid. Click on the 'loop' button, and select the 4 bars of your pattern by clicking and dragging in the grey bar above the grid (where the red line that shows where you are in the song is, next to the pencil/box icons).

Once you've got the loop selected, try exporting it again and see if that helps.

If you are using a compressor on it, you will notice that the compressor has a "Lookahead" parameter. When that is set to anything other than zero, it introduces a very small delay [the value of the lookahead]. Unless you have a very high value though, you shouldn't be able to notice.

Even if you had effects, its easy to get a loopable phrase. Just place it in the Playlist twice and set the loop start to the second part and the length to a single loop. e.g. For your 4 bars - enter them twice and set Loop Start to bar 5 and loop length to 4. Then render to wav.

lack of 'wrap remainder' function in orion wav export is that app's greatest weakness imho :(

As well, Orion will not put 'loop points' on your sample automatically. You'll have to use a sample editor such as Sound Forge, Cool Edit et al to prep the sample and trim and mark it to become triggerable loop then for Ableton or other.

yeah imho Orion needs an freeze function per Vsti

meaning freeze can put all Vsti patterns in wav files and these can be full editable(move, copy etc] in the playlist

that were my dream

sounds like you need ableton 4

I'd imagine that would cover everything you need
