By looking at the layout i can say: layout is clearly made by dance music producer. Personaly visualy this might not be stunning but layout is really focused for efficienty when making a music track which is very good.

I guess he wants to have some userbase statistics. Maybe he is planning to sell preset packs, additional ROM content and such, I gusss that's also what the usage stats he is talking about are for.
