My 2 cents.
This isn’t a gift out of the developers concerns for the poor.
It’s offered cheap to collect data.
And then there will be €€ sound packs and €€ feature upgrades.

It just crashes Cubase and even some bridged plugins get blacklisted as 32bit ones.recursive one wrote: Fri Feb 07, 2020 8:08 amWhat do you mean by not working anymore?LeVzi wrote: Fri Feb 07, 2020 8:04 am I really need to contact the jbridge dev tbh, to explain it's not working anymore.![]()
I've made contact with JF now, and i'm sure we'll work through it n get it sorted. I'll have use of 32bit "bridged" plugins again. jbridge has always been pretty solid for me.

I have no doubts that I‘m going to enjoy that synth for just 1 €, trailer sounds just brilliant. There will be also strong randomize options, so one does not have to worry that much about expansion packs.

Yeah but look at the growing interest and the questions around it, is it 32 bit, will it be AU ? etc etc, its just adding to the hype, the dev could easily put these things to bed now, he's been active here, he knows if its 32 or 64 bit, mac OS compatible or not. Why stay silent ? Cos it's drawing more interest. Maybe not an intentional ploy but its working.

Yep, same here, on C10.5. I just won't open any older bridged 32 bit plugs on J Bridge.LeVzi wrote: Fri Feb 07, 2020 12:47 pmIt just crashes Cubase and even some bridged plugins get blacklisted as 32bit ones.recursive one wrote: Fri Feb 07, 2020 8:08 amWhat do you mean by not working anymore?LeVzi wrote: Fri Feb 07, 2020 8:04 am I really need to contact the jbridge dev tbh, to explain it's not working anymore.![]()
As for the main discussion, I will be amazed if he only releases as 32bit, in the year 2020. Only time will tell I guess.
I wonder what happens if I press this button...

How come? Was it a Cubase update (or Jbridge)?LeVzi wrote: Fri Feb 07, 2020 12:47 pmIt just crashes Cubase and even some bridged plugins get blacklisted as 32bit ones.recursive one wrote: Fri Feb 07, 2020 8:08 amWhat do you mean by not working anymore?LeVzi wrote: Fri Feb 07, 2020 8:04 am I really need to contact the jbridge dev tbh, to explain it's not working anymore.![]()

I have next to latest version of Jbridge, it used to work more or less well with Studio One 3.5/Win7. Haven't used my Jbridged stuff for a while but when I did it was useable (far from being seamless tho, but, well... useable)

jbridge worked great with Cubase 6.5 , then I updated direct to 9.5 , then it stopped working, that came after Cubase stopped supporting 32bit plugins, but I thought the bridge would still work. I fixed a couple of them by using separated GUI's (not integrated which I normally use) but a few got blacklisted and a few just caused crashes , but some worked.recursive one wrote: Fri Feb 07, 2020 1:00 pmHow come? It's hit n miss and it's my fault for not thinking about this properly, I kinda just accepted that Cubase needs native 64bit, so I looked for 64bit alternatives for stuff. Most I found, others i've had to let go.

its 2020, there's no way this guy is releasing this plugin, having made a nice elaborate video for hype, and then release it as 32 bit only. This is the stupidest thing to entertain

... and all Pro apps like: ProTools, Nuendo, Cubase, Live and Logic - Don’t support vintage/absolute 32 bit tech.adamtrance wrote: Thu Feb 06, 2020 7:52 pmAnd Reaper, and FL Studio and, Samplitude and, Audition and, Acid Next and maybe something else I missed.Proken wrote: Thu Feb 06, 2020 6:50 pm Well it's a good thing then that Bitwig supports 64 bit as well as 32 bit![]()
I’m sure this plugin will be huge success with bedroom musos with older PC’s and OS’s though.

Normally, I would agree, but, it's a SynthEdit synth, and seems to be built with a older SynthEdit version.vertibration wrote: Fri Feb 07, 2020 1:35 pm its 2020, there's no way this guy is releasing this plugin, having made a nice elaborate video for hype, and then release it as 32 bit only. We will see. Don't want to speculate any further.

Not sure what the general beef is with this marketing strategy [if it is a beef at all]. It is essentially the same strategy that KV331 have used with Synthmaster, to enormous success--they essentially give away the synth, and you pay for the packages of presets. The basic synth costs more than $1 of course, but it is very cheap compared to the competition. And if you're a sound designer, you're in heaven because you don't need too many presets. If you're just a preset tweaker, like me, you're happy to pay a reasonable price (in a variety of tiers) for your inspiration.TheMaestro wrote: Fri Feb 07, 2020 10:54 am My 2 cents.

I must say though, I'm very disappointed with this 32 bit nonsense. I thought Image Line was the last hold out on this front, and thankfully, their transformation is more or less complete. I LOVED the original Genesis synth. It was all the things people have said about it and more. But we parted ways long ago because my set up went 64 bit, along with the rest of civilized society. I still keep a 32 bit version of Cubase (can't recall the version number off hand) just in case I need something from an old 32 bit plug, but it's been forever since I've had to go there. Everything has been replaced. If Genesis Pro is not 64 bit, what's the point?
Cheers
