Hi Shane + the PluginGuru team. Bought the Unify a couple of days back and I thought I'd give you some of my impressions.
The UI indeed looks dated, and I'm almost getting a "made with SynthEdit" vibe with it. My biggest issue with it was to figure out how to install the libraries - but eventually I managed. That being said, I'm actually quite impressed with it. I really like the modular approach with it. Everybody is having larger monitors these days so it help you putting up all parameters you need to use on one page, which is absolutely lovely. Makes making sounds quick and easy. The sound is great too. I just spent 1-2 hours making sounds for it, but I immediately came into the creative "fun" zone.
Good product, great sound - fantastic opportunities, so two thumbs up from me.

Very happy that it solved the problem with loading the BPM patches on my notebook without crashing Unify as it was before.
What is not solved is the drag and drop problem of the library which still dont work and as it is an update only its not possible like with the whole library to just put it in the right place. So I think on the longer run (as I think all your payed and free expansions will come in this format as library) it would be really better to install a manual loading process where you just could go show the place of the library that should be loaded.

#tatanka:
I don’t know if you are on win or mac. I had the same problem in win. In my case the problem was that I run Unify as administrator. Unchecking this solved the problem. I saw some other place that you have to close all other windows to make it work. God luck.

thanks tsvhe, yes I am on win 10, will try this out with the next updateIn my case the problem was that I run Unify as administrator. Unchecking this solved the problem.
My rescue like with the first installation was freestyle, only app (however) where it is possible, all other daw with opened unify failed too.
But thats strange, usually the problem is exactly the other way (if you dont have administrator rights and something gets blocked in the background).

This is a good suggestion. Since drag/drop is clearly not working for some people (we still don't know why, and there may be multiple causes), I'll look into adding a manual button as well.tatanka wrote: Sat Feb 08, 2020 8:40 am Very happy that it solved the problem with loading the BPM patches on my notebook without crashing Unify as it was before.

In the meantime, please report this issue to UnifySupport@PlugInGuru.com, and if you're comfortable with manual file-management operations, you can try unpacking the .guru file yourself. I've added a new page to the Unify manual describing how to do this: https://pluginguru.net/unify/manual/dok ... uru-unpack

finally got round to buying Unify last night and so far exceeds expectations
so easy to get a nice sounding patch to play "live". Reminds me of what I'd like in a keyboard "workstation" - with the added bonus of being able to use a mouse. Yes could do some of it in a DAW but from my own experience its so much more faff and once it all starts getting too much faff creativity disappears
also makes for my Cubase Elements licence to be much less limited - it frustrated me before the lack of "split" keyboard etc without upgrading to Pro
based this "live" patch on one of the Unify presets + 2 instances of Omnisphere, 1 of Pianoteq and changed reverb to Blackhole, and Zebrify. Took like 10 minutes to get to the patch I could hear in my mind. When I've got more time I'll complete it

not sure if a bug - or more likely user (me !) error
but if I record a midi track in Cubase or Ableton, and then playback, the Mod Wheel/CC is still "active" and affects the already recorded track - which I don't want. I want it to sound as recorded - any ideas please ?

Yep, this was already mentioned a few pages back. Either don't add any other parameters to CC1 (Macro1) or remove CC1 from that macro.Buckster wrote: Sun Feb 09, 2020 9:34 pm not sure if a bug - or more likely user (me !) error

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't all hosts work this way? If your host program continues to send incoming MIDI to plug-ins during playback (as I believe nearly all do), then that's a host issue. The host may provide a way to switch this off.Buckster wrote: Sun Feb 09, 2020 9:34 pm not sure if a bug - or more likely user (me !) error

Maybe I'm misunderstanding. Please advise.

I hope so, but many unexpected issues have arisen, so I can't promise.

Unify
is very good and is a great tool. I bought it for $ 59 yesterday, installed and it works great. Something that UNIFY does not have yet is the ability to remain editing a sound and be able to navigate and pre-audition other presets to be able to copy a layer and return to the sound under programming without losing it. Currently if you want to select a 'Layer' from another sound you inevitably have to 'leave' the one you are programming.
The only way is to save the preset every time you add a new layer but that is not flexible and it is tedious to program like this.
Something else that would be great is that there is a fade-out sound attenuation when you change presets so that the sound transition is smoother, especially when you play Live, the sound strokes and the clicks that ever originate are inconvenient. A 'fake' release with reverb or similar could be added to the code, even if it is not accurate, it would be better than listening to the cut between presets / multis. Long live Unify !!!! ♥
