Anyone got/heard this?

If I remember right, this was their fabled "never released" album. AFAIK it's basically (house! -see bullshit bingo thread :hihi: )the songs that eventually became Electric Cafe, but done on analog gear. The story was that they were pretty much finished it and then along came digital synths, so they ditched Techno Pop and remade it with DX7s and the result was Electric Cafe.

I'm sure there are those among us who know the facts

Do tell :)

I do know Hutter met with Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones before Thriller got underway. And for a moment, I think Hutter did consider it for himself and/or the rest of Kraftwerk as well? So I'm thinking the fabled 'Techno Pop' was maybe a 'demo' of sorts to see if Hutter and the boys could actually deliver something tight and catchy for Mikey and the Quince?

I think Hutter and all quickly came to their senses and realised the reprocussions that could be had down the road - if succesful or not with MJ, and quickly bowed out of the project. And knowing Mike's savvy, he no doubt locked/bought those demos to secure them and/or use them in some way shape or form on future projects. And no doubt Hutter wouldn't mind at all if the money was satisfactory to banish his name from involvement? ;)

That's how I think the story goes atleast? :hihi:
