Seems it was damaged in transit, and the seller used Reverb's shipping insurance thing. They (Reverb) are going to give me a partial refund, almost exactly what it would cost me to send it to Catalinbread for repairs... or I can just leave it as is and enjoy my half price pedal that I'll patch in my own feedback loops most of the time anyway.foosnark wrote: Sat Feb 08, 2020 5:43 pm Adineko arrived, but the "Reverb" knob (delay repeats) doesn't work

So I have a bunch of stuff in need of repair... but I'm trying to look on the bright side. Some of this stuff has been sidelined for long enough that once it's working again, it will be like having new gear!
On the bench this week:
Random*Source - Serge Smooth/Stepped Generator (CV input for smooth side not working)
EHX - Deluxe Memory Man TT-1100 (Delay Time control not working)
I will also be building a pair of Arp 1601 sequencer clones soon. I already ordered the parts. I'm building one for a client but I figured I would build one for myself as well. I'm planning on documenting the build, over in the DIY section, as I have done for some other projects.

Hi foosy...
Quick question ..
As I know you do a lot of S/H trading
what do you normally pay or expect when doing a trade either way, discount % from retail price.
I know this is probably dependent upon condition but a rough guide would help...
Yeah, I'm after my first S/H module...
not telling what yet

depends on the module too, clouds for example being retired probably has a better ressle value than one of the others, as closer you get to retail, the more likely you go retail for non second hand product...toonertik wrote: Wed Feb 12, 2020 4:23 pmHi foosy...

aye, clouds is a special case.. I have seen S/H clouds for more than the old retail price... and the clones seem to fetch good ££s as well....vurt wrote: Wed Feb 12, 2020 4:34 pm depends on the module too, clouds for example being retired probably has a better ressle value than one of the others, as closer you get to retail, the more likely you go retail for non second hand product...
I know this is a kinda subjective thing... but I know the kind of modules foosy has traded and I think in the same ball park as what I'm after

I came close to buying some used modules from a guy in Austria, I decided against it in the end
as I was afraid of paying import duty and having a (rare and basically irreplaceable module) travel
through 13k miles of package handling unscathed. It was expensive, in the US, customs will charge
you import duty even on 2nd hand items if they exceed a certain value.
E.g. it's worth checking up on each countries import laws if buying internationally, even 2nd hand.
Most countries will charge tax if they happen to think your'e using something commercially, regardless of the cost.
...That's what I learned anyway.

The first thing I do is poke around online and see where prices are, and I usually stay near the low end of that. wigglehunt.com is a good place to do that for Euro modules, and Reverb for everything else. I also tend to check the Muffwiggler forum trade category.toonertik wrote: Wed Feb 12, 2020 4:23 pm As I know you do a lot of S/H trading

Otherwise: if I bought something used, I usually want to sell it for what I paid (unless I got a super great deal, or everyone else's prices are lower than that now). If I bought it new, I look for something like 80% of whatever the current lowest retail price is for a new one. That's very flexible though and depends on my best guesses about demand, rarity etc. I'm more likely to go down than up in order to sell faster.
When I post stuff for sale on forums I offer free shipping; on Reverb I charge a little since it helps cover their fee.
I tend not to pick "accept offers" on Reverb anymore, preferring to post a competitive price in the first place. Otherwise people are literally always going to ask for 30% off the thing I am selling 10% lower than everyone else already, and I'm going to say no.

Not 20%...
20% lower than cheapest UK retail.. if was just 20% I would have it now... I saw it last week.
It will be the most my CC will have had to cough up for a module.. not including the o-coast
