Well v2 came out 18 years ago...but I used it from the get go. I remember mixing on it early 1998.

I actually like the Adobe version better than the original. But Adobe are a bunch of corporatist assholes, so I’ve started using a semi-functional Sony Sound Forge 9 in WINE on Mac OS to ween myself off of Audition CS6.

I used it today to record a commercial and some new IVR prompts. Running on a MS Surface w/W10 still works great.

Yes, it was carried over and can be found from Audition 3.0 all the way up to the current version:
