Some fun again with a guitar like preset. No extern FX, just P900 playing on my computer keyboard

Maybe, i have a lot of them with different timbres....also some electric overdriven kind of thing, banjos but also some accordeons, strings, organs, saxophones and a lot other weird stuff (which i shared some already here buried in the thread).
P900 is wonderful for organic timbres. I cannot do such things with my other synths without using a single sample or physical modeling, just OSCs, a filter and some audio rate modulations. I can get close but not such organic as P900 does it. The saturation and envelopes plays a big part. Especially chords just can sound amazing where most of my other synths (without samples, physical modeling) sucks.
Now i might try if i could do some violin, cello etc. stuff. Not sure if i can do something here.
Funny, i even prefer P900 now often for church organ over my sampled instruments since it almost sound as organic but at the same time it is more flexible.
I almost finished some panflutes like thing and maybe a bagpipe too

Exactly my thoughts. With these sounds you feel actual physical vibration. I bet you could do very good cellos and violins with that organic feel that you talk about. On the other hand I can't imagine flutes and especially noisy flutes with subtractive synthesis. Even if it is P900. I think that this is the domain of physical modelling.

Challenge accepted I think it does some nice noisy flutes. Even almost semirealistic vocalsfilulilu wrote: ↑Tue Feb 18, 2020 6:05 pm Exactly my thoughts. But a better/more easy way for portamento/glide would make it more easy. Here P900 lacks.
Other synths are much more flexible here but lacking the organic timbre.

Wow. I’m actually kind of shocked those sounds didn’t come from a physical-modeled synth like String Studio. Very impressive.

I don't mind that. I have managed to microtune it and I use a Linnstrument with a breath controller. I don't need portamento I use pitch bend for vibrati and glissandi.

Well, maybe time to dust off my Seaboard Rise and made some MPE presets (but i would need to use one instance per voice i guess).
Oh and a flute preset i made. Just a raw one and i think it can get much better. But it is already more organic as those sine wave flutes in most substractive synths.

P900 used photo images of the analog module. We are now redrawing them from scratch. These are preliminary take on new GUI.geronimo wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2020 8:57 pm Me too, I' enthusiastic about this Virtual Instrument from the start but if we don't have a Retina screen, I find that the GUI pictures are ill-defined or unclear.
For image management, some Applications provide two screen resolutions (Retina or not Retina).
Is it resolved?
