Yeah, I thought about it but I seem to recall a few people have been trying to sell their Avenger licenses and it's been a struggle as the re-sale price is quite low. I'll hold on to my copy for now in the hope that something in the future will change with the CP again. I'm not opposed to dongles but I don't love Avenger enough to install a new low-level CP for this one product.rlared wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2020 9:25 pmMan the expansions are fantastic. That's a bummer. . . why not sell if you're not going to use it?Elysium.NZ wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2020 6:25 pm FWIW I also haven't upgraded, it get's worse... I have 9 pre-paid expansion slots (before CP changed) that I haven't used yet. I also won't buy anything new from VPS as a result of the change to CP.

Man, soon the cash will be banned and eradicated. Not only will the authorities know everything about you and your business/personal partners, it will also be easy as a pie to cut off anyone not suitable for the state from his funds, a modern civic death. This is all because people wanted stuff to be ez. And You complain about a process that literally takes about 1,5 min to do about every 3 months and you are loyally warned about this several days beforehand? We have much bigger issuses to worry about, trust me.msvs wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2020 1:32 pm very soon there will be the new "V-Man" manager, then it will be much simpler (automatic / 1 click)
meanwhile just do this:
You can renew the time-period by deactivating and reactivating your license on the computer using the
- “Manage Activations” button in your account.
- Click the button "Re-Host License" to de-activate the license
- Then click the Button "Activate Licenses" to activate the license again
This will reset the time-period

what i find annoying is that Manuel makes it sound like it is a very easy (in that case 2-click) process which it is definitely not. after you click the button "re-host license" you have to generate various file types with the codemeter software before you can activate your licenses again which itself is again a process requiring you to generate three different files. so, no it does not take one minute but more like five minutes to re-activate your license. in general, this is a very tedious and definitely not a user-friendly process and i can only hope that with the new v-man things will get less complicated.msvs wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2020 1:32 pm very soon there will be the new "V-Man" manager, then it will be much simpler (automatic / 1 click)

Reactivating every 3 month is very time eating when you bought hundrets of expansions. GREAT that i didn't bought 1 expansion and never will. I have only to click 2 buttons to reactivate Avenger!

Hi, I installed my Avenger on 3 computer to work with customers, now need delete 2 licences from external machines, but the fxcking horrible Code Meter system have a lot of serious issues! I can't access to de Code Meter in both machines because these customers has delete, obviously, the licences and the CM app. In my Avenger page, clic on "Manage Activations" can see the 3 licences activated, but NO OPTION to delete these other 2 licenses!!
Any seriously option to get a real activation management?
I thinking on sell my Avenger if these developers insist on very bad activation systems.
Thanks.

Do you have to re-activate every expansion too? I don't know, because I have only bought Avenger and no expansion - doing my own sound design.ReboundAudio wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 3:08 pm Reactivating every 3 month is very time eating when you bought hundrets of expansions. If this would be the case, especially when the three month cycle starts at different dates for each activation, it would be the ultimate madness of copy protection.

I had to reactivate (well i assume I had to, and did anyway) the free synth instruments expansion. The good news is that they are all pre-selected to activate.

When a developer puts too much effort into copy protection to squeeze every last sale this is the outcome.
My advice is to vote with your wallet to put an end to this intrusive madness that ALWAYS punishes the honest user.

You installed Avenger on customers machine? You mean you don't own those computers? If this is the case, you know that you are not allowed to do this right?janomix.chile wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 3:40 pm Hi, I installed my Avenger on 3 computer to work with customers, now need delete 2 licences from external machines, but the fxcking horrible Code Meter system have a lot of serious issues! laz no disrespect but you don't have enough information to accuse anyone of anything.
You are making assumptions.
And you highlight my previous post, where genuine users get punished.

I was asking. There is a question mark. And after the question I said: "If this is the case and it is not allowed".Kian Russell wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 6:32 pmlaz no disrespect but you don't have enough information to accuse anyone of anything.

Only if it is the newer version (3.x). That was another annoyance for me - I had two older CodeMeters for Reason and Samplitude, but had to buy a new one (55,-€) from Wibu for Avenger.
There was no info at all, that older dongles didn't work. I got the hint from a user to update the Codemeter dongles I already had and during this process one update failed and rendered one Codemeter dongle inactive. Magix great support replaced that dongle at no cost - even with the newest model.
The whole experience with Codemeter dongles and Avenger was and is a mess. Before that I never had a problem with Codemeter dongles - they were just doing their thing in the background on Mac and PC.

This doesn't sound like it's worth all that trouble. I'm not paying €55 for a new dongle, when I already have three that work fine. You would think VPS would make an effort to support the dongles that most producers already have in their studios, like the Reason/Samplitude dongle, elicenser or even industry standard iLok. It also seems like they have failed to make the transition seamless or their customers.dreamvoid wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 11:57 pmOnly if it is the newer version (3.x).
