IV! wrote: Mon Feb 10, 2020 7:33 pm I also encountered a similar problem in FL Studio 12. Try this: upload your FL Studio project and immediately after that, without opening any existing ToneZ instances, upload additional ToneZ instance. It sounds stupid, but this is how I start every session of working on the project, otherwise all instances of ToneZ open with a broken interface and strange sounds.
Hi IV!,
thx a lot for the trick, works fine for me in FL 20.0.3 :tu:
very unusual bug that I never had before ...

Have a great day

You're welcome, glad to help! This month is especially wild synth! But this is a really insidious pitfall, because it appears when the synthesizer is already integrated into the project. Also, some participants have already written: if the file 0.0.tzp appears in the ToneZ directory when loading presets, it's better to delete it - it's a saboteur!

Post

Yeah, it's a bit wild synth, had to rush and finish project, because CPU usage hit become noticeable :D

Ahh, approximately 60% of the tracks were rendered... This is a nightmare! :bang:

Yes, this is a problem, I've had this and ended up saving live, a useful Reaper thingy. I also had multiple csound64 crashes, other weird glitches which dragged my computer to its knees, who would have thought a noise hihat on a single OSC would do this? and the preset reset, which continued if you hadn't saved the patches prior, to closing the DAW, if some of these issues were fixed this would be a :tu: synth.

My track as described above uses 20% cpu on my system (from task manager). That's with ALL the plugins listed. I did not need to bounce this time round.

Yeah, overall, I didn't have many issues, apart from what I listed, the crashes were really random, I've recently updated my computer with an MSI that sorted the synthedit problem I was having, apparently early versions of Win7 were missing a fairly important update which I only found out about when trying to install plogue's sforzando.
I've never freeze/bounced, to me it seems a bit off, this is just me personally, I never judge people pieces by my own unwillingness to do something, purely on what I hear, that's why I mainly listen via OsCChallenge page, keep my process clear of influences other than the music.
Well, that's me done writing anything for another year or so :D
1 extra, carry over from Synclavia thread, I'm in France, in the middle of bleeding nowhere :)

I also don't like things like rendering tracks. But when you get involved in the creation of a work and to complete its complete image you do not have enough technical capabilities... well, I choose the least evil

Wow! OSC is a truly global challenge! It's great to do something here with all of you! :wheee:

Post

Hey everyone!
I'm probably not going to participate this month because i've been busy adapting to work life. That said, i've been known to pull out all the stops at the last minute and whip up a pipe organ...

Carrying over from the geography conversation at the end of the #131 thread:
I have a small mental map of OSC people from scanning people's soundcloud pages and hanging around the OSC Slack channel. Counting the frequent participants of the past year or so, i believe we span 6 continents (not counting any residents of Synthville, Antarctica).
We have at least 50 years in age range of participants. We have a music production/composition experience range of approximately the same time span.
I've noticed that there are a fair number of engineers/software developers/tech folks, but that might just be the kind of people that the Slack attracts.
We cover a decent range of DAWs (although Reaper is big here) and a wide range of production and listening setups, from laptops & headphones to carefully curated keyboards and monitors.

Best part of this, in my opinion? There's a lot of experience here to learn from and get inspired by.

Oh, and I'm personally from North Carolina in the eastern USA.

Me big heap having fun with ToneZ ... Now, I need your help/input.
I have already finished a track - 90s style trance. Finde the post somewhere else on this thread.
Now I'm at 2nd, more hardstyle oriented sketch... you can find it here
https://soundcloud.com/p-e-t-e-r-h/tone ... le/s-UdpMc
Which track has more potential? The first one or the hardstyle one? Should I finish the new sketch and make it my submission? What do you think?

Post

Now your first track really sounds more complete and interesting. But, given that Hardstyle is only a sketch, I think it would become more promising if you add a few more melodic lines, details... at your creative discretion  I definitely think that Hardstyle is a more powerful track! :phones: :tu:

Thanks IV! You're right the first one is far more elaborate...
A minute ago I have uploaded a extended version of the new track. I've added a little bit more melodic elements. Check it out here: https://soundcloud.com/p-e-t-e-r-h/tone ... le/s-UdpMc

Hello all together,

this synth is a great piece to play around with, but still have a few bugs.
In FL Studio i always have the problems that sounds were gone and had to be reloaded when i opened the Synth in the project :( .

Hey guys, this is my first OSC ever! The synth is very powerful and easy to use, but it’s a bit buggy sometimes. Here is my submission: https://soundcloud.com/tensorman/stratosphere

DAW used: REAPER
Instances of ToneZ: 22
All plugins used were native to the DAW

Master FX:
2x ReaEQ, 1x ReaComp, 1x ReaXcomp (multiband compressor), 1x Exciter (Treble Enhancer), 1x Saturation, 1x Master Limiter

All other FX:
20x ReaEQ, 11x ReaComp, 1x ReaVerb, 9x Saturation, 6x ReaXcomp, 4x Exciter (Treble Enhancer), 3x Distortion (Fuzz), 1x Stereo Width, 2x Soft Clipper/Limiter, 1x Waveshaping Distortion, 1x Bass Manager/Booster
