Which DAWs support CC out from MIDI FX devices like Reason Rack VST?

The question is general, but I'm mostly thinking about newly updated Reason Rack VST that can output MIDI CC to use further in devices chain to e.g. modulate VSTs. It's showcased in this video at 3:01 working in Logic, but NOT working in Live:

I tried it in Bitwig and Studio One (I'm quite competent in both, I think) and I really couldn't make it work. Sending regular note CV/gate worked fine in both, but not CC. Can anyone try? Did you had success with it in other DAWs?

Apparently - based on Reasontalk - there might be a general problem with VST version, whereas AU seems to be working. Take that into account in your testing if you're on Mac.

I just tried with the Bitwig demo and I think it´s a problem with their VST3 implementation...
As it´s working in Reaper I cannot think of a reason why it should be Propellerhead´s fault
For example Cableguys Midi Shaper as a VST2 sends controller data without any problems here...
I am just wondering about Studio One as their VST3 implementation is normally quite good

The VST3 version is definitely working, but it might be rarer than we thought that hosts support sending MIDI CC from VST3s. For example, I know that Ableton Live doesn't support sending MIDI CC from VST3 plugins to the host yet.

Yeah... seems to be a quite poor implementation of the most...

Thanks! I expected it to be super simple in Bitwig for example, as it doesn't really care about order of the devices and MIDI freely flows through the chain, but alas it wasn't working
I think you should thoroughly test it in most popular DAWs in both VST and AU and ideally post short tutorials how to set it up, like Cableguys have for example:

For me, CC output is even a bigger deal than MIDI out, because it adds Reason's LFOs, envelopes and MSEGs to the DAWs that don't have it, while they mostly already have arps, note repeaters, chorders, etc.

As far as I can tell, outputting CC from a VST3 was actually added to the VST3 specification quite recently. That might explain why it's not implemented in all hosts (yet).

Hope you're on the bleeding edge of high-res, GPU-accelerated GUI tech as well
I've contacted Bitwig's support about this issue and let's see what they come up with.
BTW, I really wish MIDI signal flow in Reason DAW was treated just like Audio or CV, without stuff happening "behind the scenes" - there should be cables going out from Mix Channel to note/gate CV in instruments & combinators, that we could split, combine, filter, etc. like anything else.

Does anyone know if this works in Cubase 10.5? I haven't had any luck yet, but I'm just getting familiar with Cubase again as I primarily use Studio One, so it could totally be user error.
With Studio One, it looks like Midi FX (midi CC from one VSTi to another) only works with their internal midi plugins and not anything 3rd party as best I can tell. Hopefully 3rd party support comes in a future upgrade.

Here's how to route Reason Rack in Cubase 10.5 with third party instruments (quick and dirty):
- Set Midi In on instrument to Reason Rack
- connect cv from modulator to midi out instance in Rack
- assign cc an unused number
- midi learn the control you want to affect (lower the cv scale on the cv's you don't want to learn when assigning multiple cv's)
A word of warning, Cubase is crashing on me when I remove Reason Rack from a project. It seems to save fine though. I think it's a system specific error as it's working okay for most I think. Hopefully Reason will fix it soon, I've submitted a ticket.
