AUM and audiobus are 2 incredible tools for touting audio and mini between apps on ios..
They work like both a midi patchbay,
As well as an audiomixer..
It allows you to combine and sync several sequencers with eachother..
It works intuitive and fast...
Wish there was anything like this for the mac or a windows system..
Makes me mostly wonder why they have never been developed?

Dante can route audio, or soundflower... rtpMidi can route Midi...
Both work across a network btw... But the demand for such tools is way lower on real computers. You would usually combine everything you need within your host as most tools come as vst/au...

There are other products you can use like Blue Cat Audio’s Patchwork, which is far more powerful than AUM or AudioBus

Blue cat is a nice tool for creating dsp fx chains..Forgotten wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2020 2:28 pm There are other products you can use like Blue Cat Audio’s Patchwork, which is far more powerful than AUM or AudioBus

But where is the audio routing?
Where is the midi routing?
Maybe i missed something in the 3 vids i watched..
Seems patchwork can do one of the functions of aum/audiobus very well
But it misses the functionallity that makes these programs so special..

The problem on pc/mac comes when you want to run several programs at the same time..and integrate with eachother..Tj Shredder wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2020 2:25 pm Dante can route audio, or soundflower... rtpMidi can route Midi...

In my live setup i use..
- bitwig
- reason (its great now i can use the racks in bitwig)
- band in a box
- mainstage
- logic
- arranger software
All want midi in and out.
Also all of them want audio out
And they need to be in sync..
Now, i am not using them all at the same time..
But being able to use 3 or 4 atthe same time.. could help me a lot..

Imho, the best audio routing app on a Mac is Rogue Amoeba Loopback:

On Windows, many people like VB-Audio VoiceMeeter Banana:
https://www.vb-audio.com/Voicemeeter/banana.htm
VoiceMeeter Banana is more of a virtual mixer but you can use it as a audio routing app. Audio routing is a topic among live streamers because they need to move audio from app to app in their streaming setups. It is not much of a topic around here.

Sync: either Ableton link or Midi syncToets wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2020 7:29 pmThe problem on pc/mac comes when you want to run several programs at the same time..and integrate with eachother..Tj Shredder wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2020 2:25 pm Dante can route audio, or soundflower... rtpMidi can route Midi...

Midi: IAC
Audio: Dante, Soundflower, Jack or Rogue...
And if I want it simple and have only to connect Mainstage with Bitwig, I plug the spdif out into the spdif in of my interface...

Patchwork is not an ios App. It’s only for desktop. Totally out of context. You don’t know what you sayForgotten wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2020 2:28 pm There are other products you can use like Blue Cat Audio’s Patchwork, which is far more powerful than AUM or AudioBus

... a desktop app is EXACTLY what the OP was asking for:
And why this comment after almost four years?Toets wrote: Wish there was anything like this for the mac or a windows system..
We are the KVR collective. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.
