Bit puzzling really.

At the start of a song, I set the Left locater to the position where I want to start playing from, hit record, and play the part.

Then .... I find that the first notes have been missed???

Another angle of the same problem - if I have a part of say 4 bars, and want to record something else after that part, I set locator to the end of the part press record, and jump in after the click in. I then find that the first notes I play, appear as the last notes on the prev part???

This started a couple of weeks back - and I cannot work out why it suddenly started, never mind what it is.

Set up as below ...

WinXP, VST5.1, Audiophile 24/96.

I had similiar problems when I switched from win95 to w2k..now, what did I do to finally relieve the hair pulling out??
have you been running vst and xp with no problems?

Post

I believe it was that I needed to be in 'standard pc' mode. I'm not sure if this is applicable to xp..
sorry I can't be of more help.
what about preroll?

yes. Been fine for over a year - just started playing up recently. Kinda thought it might be some software that I have installed, but prior to doing any painful backtracking, I wondered if it was anything to do with synch settings :?

disable all emulated midi ports in cubase - device setup, and use the non emulated ones instead. also make sure that in sync setup you didn't accidently set some offset (check for this if the problem still persists after you switched to using the non-emu midi ports).
