No, you get a new serial if you buy the upgrade plan...Proken wrote: Fri Nov 29, 2019 8:18 am You mean the serial I currently have? In that case that is awesome![]()
The new upgrade period starts in the moment when you register the new serial in your account.

Only you can answer that, I opened it up few times to see what that thing actually is, have no interest in it whatsoever and cheer for Bitwig to go in direction of more linear DAW's and improve in other aspects.

I kind of agree. Seems cool but I already have so many similar things. I do like it but I mainly bought Bitwig for its workflow and general enjoyability of sequencingPassing Bye wrote: Wed Feb 26, 2020 10:43 pmOnly you can answer that, I opened it up few times to see what that thing actually is, have no interest in it whatsoever and cheer for Bitwig to go in direction of more linear DAW's and improve in other aspects.

Its the best and easiest modular around. Its a sound design tool. Whenever I need to create a sound from scratch, its my goto synth, the one to rule them all. Except for wavetable synthesis maybe, but that is an overrated area anyway.
Its a sound designers dream. Of course, if that isn’t your interest, (like the two previous comments seem to reflect) you just get a bunch of presets...

there are some other practical usages besides sound-design, creating generative stuffs etc.
can build per-note fx chains
can build note triggered rhythmical effects
can self layer VSTs
can generate MIDI notes
can integrate VSTi into your fx chain

Read your post. Carefully. Twice.
What should we base our reply on? For all I know you're a singer song-writer and just record yourself + a guitar and then add fade-outs to the clips...
For me - no. I'm glad it's there for when I have a concrete idea that's best (or fastest) realised in The Grid, but I could live without it. I can do 98% of what I need with "regular" Bitwig devices, or VSTs.

I've opened the Grid maybe twice since whenever 3.0 came out. I'm not really interested in modular synths like that. I just want to open a plugin, twist a few knobs and get some sound out of it. I don't want to do math, I don't want to work logic problems. I want to make music.

I have nothing similar and I don't care for anything modular in it, makes no difference really, it's just an great DAW that have huge potential to become even better.

Nobody discusses that, but the question that "resurrected" this threead was is it worth to upgrade to 3.0 due to GridPassing Bye wrote: Thu Feb 27, 2020 10:06 pmI have nothing similar and I don't care for anything modular in it, makes no difference really, it's just an great DAW that have huge potential to become even better.

I like the Grid, but I use it only to create relatively simple synth patches. All the maths and logic stuff is above my head and I don't want to invest time to learn it.
If you think you're going to use it is worth the upgrade price. It sounds really good. You can wait for 3.2 or 3.3 before upgrading.
