what OS are you using? keep your product registration key handy... (This is for Windows 10, I don't have an Apple computer, so, it may be different.) In windows, go to the OS settings window, go to APPS and uninstall there. After that, look in your Documents folder for a folder called RapidComposerV3. If that is still there, delete it.

Now reinstall the program again. To save you from any future problems, go back to the Documents folder .. RapidCompser V3 folder and make a back up of the DB folder and the Settings folder.

Before you start using the program as usual, go to the settings page -> Misc tab and turn on or off any settings that you may want.. At this point, some won't make any clear sense till you understand the program, but, most will.. As an example, loading the last project, etc..

Most of the time, new users always seem to find the worst possible problems. It is what it is.. I was in that same boat too.. lol I am sure this will be addressed soon..

Attila is the sole person working on the software. He responds as fast as he can, in most cases, it is usually very quick. He has a very good track record on fixing issues too.

I have not received an e-mail about this question.
If you delete the 'settings' file in your Documents/RapidComposerV3/Settings folder, everything is reset to default.
If you really want to start from scratch, delete the whole Documents/RapidComposerV3 folder and reinstall.

Thanks,
Attila

well thanks Atillia and i do want to say that your software program is indeed excellent and i would recommend it to anyone . But i did have one other serious issue and that was when i upgraded to the new patch 3.83 or whatever it was and it totally crashed my computer and had to pull power plug to get back into windows it did this twice . So i uninstalled and reinstalled the 3.82 and it works fine now .

Dear jaikez,

This bothers me a lot, and I cannot find an explanation for the crash (was it a crash or hanging?).
I wonder if other users also experience that, so far I have not received bug reports about this.
Especially the Windows version has been very solid in the past.
It would be helpful to know what you were doing immediately before the crash/hanging occurred.
(You can have multiple versions installed side by side if you want)

Thanks,
Attila

I'm not having any issues with that version, so, it's a mystery for sure. I do know that most windows or, intel based systems by default, have the power button set so that if you hold it down for 10 secs in a lock up, it will power down. You can change that behavior in the bios. (but I don't recommend changing it)

thanks for the advice

Related: what about resetting to the original content (chord progressions, scales, etc)? I have a lot of “cruft” in my library. I am on MacOS.

Post

To reset the original content, you can delete everything except the Settings folder from your Documents/RapidComposerV3 folder, and reinstall.
