I installed the VManager - it worked fine.
Actually, it doesn't "install" - you just download the exe and run it.
I *did* "Rehost" the license (deactivate) first - in my Avenger account.
I would not have thought of that if I didn't see it here in the forum.
So, the next question is - what happens next?
Do we wait 90 days and just click the button in VManager?
Or do we have to "Deactivate" first?
also - I wonder if it will be annoyed if we wait for the 90 days to pass - if it will just reactivate without any problems.
Some sort of documentation would be helpful.

I'm beyond frustrated at this point.. out of nowhere, works for about 5 minutes after a reboot, after that
I'm not a f*cking beta tester for your product
I want to like this plugin..I really do, but at this point in time I wouldn't recommend it to anyone

I understand that every developer need to protect a product from being pirated, but it seems to me that this copy protection that is currently in place is causing a lot of users to have issues.
Of course some of them are clearly user/configurations/operating system errors.
On the other hand, i think that periodically online checking/reactivation scheme is really something to be reconsidered. It can cause a real frustration, especially in some workflows/studios that specifically requires that the main rig is OFFLINE all the time (as somebody mentioned it - Netflix is one that have this requirement).

Hey guys, I just got Avenger 1.5 edition a few months ago during their holiday sale. I agree it's a great synth and very versatile, I've been really enjoying it, but I am also disappointed with all of this extra licensing security stuff. And that it seems like there will be continuously more to come. I've never in my life had to jump through so many hoops to get a music program up and running properly, but once I got it working it's been solid so far.
My only concern is now learning that if I don't manually refresh my instrument every 90 days my license will expire. It really sucks to make users accountable like that. I agree with someone here who said user experience should be improved and this stuff should run in the background and not be noticeable. Every music software I've ever owned in the past ran automatically like this and still works for me to this day as a result.
Does anyone know if when I refresh my licenses before 3 months if I HAVE to download V-Manager now? Is that now required too? Can I just use the Avenger website to refresh everything instead like I've been doing? Codemeter was confusing and bloatware enough, I don't know if I feel like adding yet another background app to my computer. Also sounds like a lot of people are still having issues...so I rather wait before I make a decision. Any information about this would be great...thanks!

Agree with most of what you say. As far as I know Vman is to make it easier and may in time allow stuff that the website can't do, but for now as far as I am aware, you can stick to the website to refresh, although it is a few clicks and may just be one click on Vman.

expire does not mean "deleted". Even if you fail to renew after 90 days the license still can be re-activated any time

Thanks Manuel - that's what I was hoping.msvs wrote: Sun Mar 01, 2020 7:57 am expire does not mean "deleted". Even if you fail to renew after 90 days the license still can be re-activated any time
so , if the 90 day license expires, you just go in to VManager and renew - right?
No need to "rehost" or accidently lose one of the 3 activations - it will just automatically "de-activate" and become "available"?

I got a problem with the 1.55 mixer, when using a factory drum kit and recording notes via midi, I get moving “ghost” faders (semi transparent, drawn and moving behind the faders), I removed all continuous controllers but no change? What am I doing wrong?

Good luck with that. Seems nobody want this anymore.SLiC wrote: Sun Mar 01, 2020 10:46 am I like Avenger but this is all to much hassle for me, its going on the marketplace![]()
Mine's there for months and also others are selling. Lowest price I've seen today is € 93 and seller pays transfer fee. But it's still better to have 63 in the pocket then nothing at all I guess.

Yeah resale value has definitely tanked. People may kick themselves later for selling so cheap if the copy protection annoyance gets worked out though...

...or they're happy to have sold it and at least got something for it, if the annoyance and probably other changes are continuing.rlared wrote: Sun Mar 01, 2020 5:18 pm Yeah resale value has definitely tanked. I've been using VPS Avenger quite a lot for a specific EDM based projects. It works flawlessly, not sure what people are bitching about when it comes to its copy protection. No problem here.
However, somehow, or maybe that just some illusion, the preset loading time has increased, which is a bit odd. For some presets, it takes more than 7-10 seconds to load. I can't claim that it has been so from the beginning. Despite having new SSD's and an 'optimized' Win 10 Pro OS.
I just want to ask for some tips about what to check to pinpoint the 'bottleneck' (if any?)
Thank you in advance.
