Hey, I was wondering if this is possible. If i rewire Fruity into Cubase can I use the piano roll in Fruity to make a midi pattern and have the midi routed to a cubase SX vsti, so that the vsti in Cubase plays the midi pattern in Fruity. Anyone know if it's possible with Fruity or any other host that has rewire like Ableton Live, Reason, etc..

I'm guessing that you could use a MIDI Out plug in FL and route it to MIDI Yoke, then route the MIDI Yoke channel back in Cubase.

This method works both as FL inserted as a VSTi, or through rewire:
1* Add a FL VSTi(not if you use rewire) in SX.
2* Open up FL VSTi(rewire), make sure you setup FL to output the midi to VSTi(rewire) (Cubase in your case) in the midi-setting.
3* Add a MIDI out channel in FL, and make sure the midi output port is set to the same as in the FL midi-settings(i belive port 10 is the default).
*4 Add a MIDI track in SX, and set the input port to be FL VSTi(or the rewire channel), and set the output to whatever you like (your softsynth)
....Thats it, no need for midi-joke and midi-delay
Enjoy...

it works but there is a problem. The sound seems to stutter like each note is being played twice or something. any ideas what is causing it?

never happend to me.. but try to turn off "Enable MIDI remote control" and also turn off "Enable MIDI master Sync".
...And if you run out of CPU power, you will experience sync problems.
...Hope that solves your problem
