Stop giving me exclusive offers, trying to make feel like a valued customer, when I'm really getting the wool pulled over my/our eyes.
You're special, you've spent loads on our products, look at this $69 deal, often seen at at $29. Pass the KY Jelly and bend over.

No one likes being done, especially if you've purchased before, I believe this is the reason why so much discussion surrounds Waves.
Their personal deals can be a slap in the face, with products costing more than the nominal $29.99, do they think customers are stupid?
If not, stop treating me like I am with the pathetic sale strategies.

I love the products, it's just this charade that makes me look elsewhere.

This audio world is brutal man... not everyone is cut out for it... only about .001% make it out alive.

You do know you can unsubscribe to their newsletter, you don't have to read their emails and offers, and most importantly you don't have to visit their website, right?

Yep, I agree with every word you say, yeah, why am I not unsubscribed?

I want to know the latest tech and offers, it's my hobby.

But as a customer, with an account, I believe there are obligations. I do mostly use other devs instead, the last thing I bought was Rbass late last year, that's the last from Waves, I used the free $20 survey voucher.

Brand loyalty straight out of the window. I agree, I'll give it a wide berth and quit whinging.

After all, I did get some freebies that balance the boat, after paying top dollar when I was new to plug-ins about 6yrs ago. I paid alot more than $29 for a $29 product, several times.

I think this is simply a matter of market forces at work, not so much what Waves wants to do. They're just reacting... not in a very smart way but they have to do something. If the value of your product deflates, you can try to get that money in other ways... or you can try come up with smarter, more valuable products. That's hard to do of course, but the only way to stay out of the race to the bottom. Other companies are trying much smarter things, like Softube with their hardware controller. Arturia has their hardware business and put their software in neat, well curated bundles. NI is trying to come up with something. Other companies do it by staying small and specialised.

No company is perfect and every company plays the marketing game... Just wait for Black Friday.

having something on sale one day per year vs 24/7 is different.

I bought the Abbey Road Chambers and Plates @29€ a pop, but I won't buy anything else from them after reading about wup and this kinda crap. I have, haha, all the fx I need at this point. I even believe that as I'm writing it. :scared:

Not being honest to yourself WILL cause issues down the road.

Ah well. I am, after all, a member of a species that is still fascinated by digital watches.
Besides, most of my fx money has gone into TrackS.

I'm still not comprehending.

I buy stuff from other companies, and their product support doesn't end after 1 year. I've seen too many people very upset with Waves' business model. Now, I am on a mac with Mojave. If their plugins won't work when I am forced to move to Catalina or the next one, and I have to pay again for what I've already bought, then I'm out.

Please correct me if I'm wrong on that. Other companies update their products as a matter of course for free when Apple does their yearly new OS thing. Does Waves do the same?

The Waves stuff I have already works on Catalina, so I don’t think you’ll have a problem anyway.
