This is not a problem just with PC's I'm afraid, I downloade the 2.0.8 version for the Mac last night (using DP 4.12) and it's also asking for re-authorize each time I launch. I didn't discover this right away because in additionn to this problem, anytime you want to make a change to any parameters in a patch the knobs, dials, etc. bounce to the extreme left and remain there and cannot be moved. I was busy trying to work with this and sent an e-mail to IK and only after re--launching was presented with the authorize problem as well. I haven't sent an e-mail yet for this, I just ended up going to bed. I have a session today so will try a re-install as suggested earlier but I might be buggered for today.

I don't know the official word on this but I heard something about it grabbing a new digital ID or something like that and I think it could be actually an improvement on the authorization process. So, it may need to be re-authorized but for good reason in the long run I believe. Sorry I don't have more info than that but IK tech support does. Contact www.sampletank.com/support.html

Squids I don't think it is right for someone from IK support to come on this thread and ask for an email to be sent to him and then not respond to the email or the thread after that. And this was a while ago. Too bad the people at IK aren't like you.Squids wrote:I don't know the official word on this but I heard something about it grabbing a new digital ID or something like that and I think it could be actually an improvement on the authorization process. They do respond but they do it in the order they receive the email. This is Saturday night? They don't work on the weekends. Most companies don't. It can take a few business days to hear back sometimes.ATS wrote:Squids I don't think it is right for someone from IK support to come on this thread and ask for an email to be sent to him and then not respond to the email or the thread after that. Anyone who is having the ST LE problem when it doesn't save the Auth codes etc, please see below and send your responses to
http://www.sampletank.com/STSupport.html
- Are you the admin or not on the system.
- Does ST remember the Instrument Root folder setting each time you load it or does it reask each time?
- On which button do you click after having inserted the codes, just before leaving the wizard
- Is the Digital ID going to change or are they just asked to reinsert the same exact codes all the times?

I'm using S2 XL (update v2.0.8.1) and I've not had any issues with the authorizing.

Do you have Windows fully updated? Service pack 2? I am wondering if this may be part of the problem.

No, I'm still using Service Pack 1. I haven't installed SP 2 after seeing reports it 'could' be problematic with some software, so mabye you're right about SP 2?ATS wrote:Do you have Windows fully updated? Service pack 2? I am wondering if this may be part of the problem.
