As a "3rd Level IT professional" you should know how to create intelligent backups to prevent your system for "f***Ing up in every situation!Caine123 wrote: Wed Mar 04, 2020 8:37 pm Hey guys and especially manuel. I am really sad to see that the replies here in the last few months/weeks got mostly negative. Im still pre 1.5 so i cannot comment on the new cp but do you really dont care anymore and are the recent posters all their fault? Im in the IT 1st and 2nd level also 3rd level jobs if im experienced enoughand can tell you that not always users are not on fault but a lot of the software etc. So i hope you care again more to make avenger a great accepted product instead of leaving out the people who want to enjoy it and also some who helped you get the great feedbacks before all the changes. Im still stayong pre 1.5 before all is better managed and more safer? As my system is in a great shape and dont want to f**k it up. Thx

Hey guys, has anyone had any luck using the new VMan on Mac running Catalina OS? I would like to be up to date and at some point I will need to refresh my licenses too, but as stated before I'm cautious to install or change anything right now after seeing all of these errors. I know Catalina can be finicky as it is so I don't want to brick my plugin if I can avoid it. I literally joined this site because I'm so confused by this product and its licensing set up...

cool. thank you very much. I've been out of the loop for a while due to working lots of overtime. I appreciate not having to comb this thread to find out wtf is going on. I knew this rollover thing was going to happen but I assumed it would auto renew. this is stupidnoiseboyuk wrote: Wed Mar 04, 2020 11:16 pmI agree - getting a warning that your permanent license is about to expire every 90 days is ridiculous. The situation does seem, if anything, to be getting worse. There is a new product called VMAN to help authorisation, but there's been a few reports of this failing so badly the synth stops working altogether. So for now I'd go with the older clumsy-but-seems-to-work-for-people method:Razzia wrote: Wed Mar 04, 2020 9:19 pm I keep getting this message that my license will expire soon. Prob been brought up early in the thread but it's an 800 page thread. What do I do? Request license update?
I have to say, I'm not so die-hard anti-CM but I do find it kind of f**king obnoxious that I'm getting pop ups while my DAW initializes that tell me my license is expiring like it's some kind of demo
They've got to get a solid, reliable, zero click rolling thing going ASAP. Nexus is only 30 days but at least it works reliably and is unobtrusive.("your account" refers to the https://register.vps-avenger.com/ address)
You can renew the time-period by deactivating and reactivating your license on the computer using the
- “Manage Activations” button in your account.
- Click the button "Re-Host License" to de-activate the license
- Then click the Button "Activate Licenses" to activate the license again
This will reset the time-period

To get the next copyprotection system, never?!
They should do the same like most other VST developers, too. A system without dongle and / or 3rd party software crap instead of torture their costumers again and again to prevent cracks at all costs. And then they could make amends for their users for example with a special expansions sale offer!

Guys this situation will only get worse. Everybody wants a piece of the pie that's called copy protection and I'm trying to avoid these plugins like the plague. Sooner or later iLok and eLicencer are not the only players in town.

Wish I could help you, but I can't remember reading anyone with specific Catalina OS experiences. I'd guess for now that the original slightly long-winded method quoted above in Razzia's post is the safest when it comes to update time - its actually not that bad to do, even though no-one wants this ongoing forever.MissOptimyst wrote: Thu Mar 05, 2020 1:31 am Hey guys, has anyone had any luck using the new VMan on Mac running Catalina OS? That current "best hardcore copyprotection trouble ever" could provoke "crack idiots" more than ever to crack "the last synth you ever need" because it looks like a challenge between one company and the "crack idiots scene". I'm using and of course always buying VSTs since 15 years and never experienced such a mess for purely copyprotection. And I can't imagine it's promotional because in other forums the mood is like here ...
But to be fair, I sent an email to the support and got answer after 12 hours!

Me too, but the Wibu stuff is clumsy and yet ANOTHER process running in my system. I already run iLok and elicenser, the least intrusive industry standard way is to just work with one of them, as they are industry standard.
Personally, I’m against parse license key schemes, as these start floating around really quickly and I (as a user/consumer) want some level of protection in my purchase as well. Why pay €300 if your buddy just grabs a torrent. I don’t use warez full stop, but I only spend money on stuff that’s properly protected. So at least for me, proper protection is important. It’s not donationware sort of speak.

The 80s are back, and they sound more glorious than anytime before... Synthwave II is here! If past and the future would have a child, it would be this expansion pack: Manuel Schleis pulled out all the stops and designed 132 presets full of fat analog 80s sound design. Those big gated drumkits, rough distorted cyberpunk basslines and this time even more focus on the digital side: Explore 139 first class digital wavetables of the DX era. The best bells, fm-sweeps, growly basslines, digital plucks and even talking vocoders. Multiple of these wonderful wavetables layered result in the fattest bells, sweeping airy pads and fatasy digital leads you ever encountered! Also we also incuded the newest Avenger technology: Multiloop guitar kits (80s power distotion riffs and improvised lead guitar riffs) are also part of this gigantic expansion. Did we mention the 91 new arp patterns yet?
Attention: VPS Avenger version 1.5.5 minimum required!
this expansion adds to your library:
132 Avenger presets 25 new drumkits / sequences
91 new arp patterns 42 new multisamples
4 new granular samples 5 new guitar multiloops
29 new osc-shapes 139 new wavetables

To give them credit Rene sent me a few emails and sorted my issue with codemeter locking Avenger on my laptop.. he sent me a previous version of codemeter to use which works.
I had been wondering whether it was worth the hassle but it is is a fantastic synth, best VST I have tried.

Does anyone know if 1.5.5:
a) automatically installs VMAN and if so
b) if you need to manually run it for anything to happen (ie can I forget about it without any risk til the bugs have been ironed out?)

I'm confused... I just ran the new Vman app once, clicked one button to update everything, closed the Vman program.ATS wrote: Thu Mar 05, 2020 6:49 am now I have another stupid program running every time I start my computer. I really hate this shit.
Now I can open Avenger in my host and it loads up fine. I don't have to have Vman running in the background at all. So.... what are you talking about?
