Not sure what they were talking about specifically, but if you look at the running processes necessary to run Avenger's DRM, there is both CmWebAdmin and CodeMeter Runtime Server. Every process that possibly reads or writes to disc, uses network (wireless moreso than wired), or anything that requires a CPU interrupt is going to impact your system's realtime audio latency.mholloway wrote: Thu Mar 05, 2020 5:21 pm Now I can open Avenger in my host and it loads up fine. I don't have to have Vman running in the background at all. So.... what are you talking about?
You can alleviate this by disabling the services when not using Avenger.

"codemeter control center" starts every time I start my computer now. I assume if I take this off the synth won't work so like I said, now I have another program running that I shouldn't need or want.mholloway wrote: Thu Mar 05, 2020 5:21 pmI'm confused... I just ran the new Vman app once, clicked one button to update everything, closed the Vman program.ATS wrote: Thu Mar 05, 2020 6:49 am now I have another stupid program running every time I start my computer. I really hate this shit.

You can remove that from the autostart, it won't disable Avenger. But you're right, there is no documentation about this, and less technically savvy people can easily wreck their computer.

Hey appreciate the effort I think that probably is the safest bet right now. I was thinking around the same lines.noiseboyuk wrote: Thu Mar 05, 2020 9:51 amWish I could help you, but I can't remember reading anyone with specific Catalina OS experiences. I'd guess for now that the original slightly long-winded method quoted above in Razzia's post is the safest when it comes to update time - its actually not that bad to do, even though no-one wants this ongoing forever.MissOptimyst wrote: Thu Mar 05, 2020 1:31 am Hey guys, has anyone had any luck using the new VMan on Mac running Catalina OS? I would like to be up to date and at some point I will need to refresh my licenses too, but as stated before I'm cautious to install or change anything right now after seeing all of these errors. I know Catalina can be finicky as it is so I don't want to brick my plugin if I can avoid it. I literally joined this site because I'm so confused by this product and its licensing set up...
If anyone updates to the new VMan on Mac and is successful please let us know. Especially if on Catalina. In the meantime I’m bouncing my Avenger midi tracks to audio to be safe and hoping for the best when I need to refresh the license next month. I love the synth just wish it was easier to own. Definitely a first for me as a soft synth owner.

I seem to be unable to refresh my license. I generated a "license request file" in codemeter controlcenter and then loaded it into the register avenger webpage. It says "no updates available for this serial number". But my VPS Avenger plugin refuses to work "no license found".

I don't quite follow - I haven't heard anything about anyone needing to request a license. The procedure within the VPS Registration website is to de-activate the license(s) and once that is done, then re-host those licenses.MacGyver wrote: Sat Mar 07, 2020 7:36 am I seem to be unable to refresh my license. Ah, now it worked, I did the following:
- Click Rehost license. Deactivate current container license. Generating all those files and import/export it using codemeter controlcenter.
- Click Activate license. Generating all those files and import/export it using codemeter controlcenter.

If you're on Windows 10 search for "Startup Apps" and turn Codemeter Control Center to the off position.ATS wrote: Fri Mar 06, 2020 7:46 am how do I remove it without disabling avenger? thanks in advance.

Does Avenger run without this running?
I found that Avenger doesn't load properly (can't see the factory content) until the CCC is running.

Avenger runs on my system without it. It has two Services running, which the DRM depends on. It only needs one of them, though. So set them both to manual. When I run Avenger, it starts the other one. When I don't use Avenger I stop the service so it doesn't interrupt CPU.
You could always turn any startup app back on with the same switch. Services are a bit more complicated (automatic, automatic 2, manual, disabled). But you can't really delete them without diving into the registry which I highly recommend against unless you know exactly what you are doing.

Anyone who was having issues have any good luck with a fix? Hoping to hear some positive results soon before I download VMan. Especially for Mac users.
Still feel stuck in a holding pattern. Since I’m unsure about VMan how do you manually update the synth when the updates come out? I would like to be able to get some new sound packs in the future. Do I need to uninstall anything first? Or just run an update installer? Sorry for all the questions! All new to me...

I'm on a Mac and went through this tonight.
The bad news: I didn't get any warning at all that my license had expired. I tried to use Avenger and it simply put up a warning that Avenger didn't have a license. I've been busy with other music projects and haven't used Avenger in awhile, so that may be why I didn't get any advance notice that my license was about to expire, but that isn't very elegant. If it had happened when I wasn't online, I wouldn't have been happy.
The good news: I downloaded VMan, signed in, followed the prompts and was up and running in literally a few minutes. I've been using Avenger for the past few hours and all is good. So, at least for me, VMan on the Mac is working great.
