Also, I don't think it's really about defending NI, it's about being a bit reasonable towards a company who's holding a candle for a business, which is very hard, if you want to make some money. Also, I don't think anyone benefits by talking the biggest player into the ground, especially when it comes from a few individuals, just like here.

But, the most important thing I always wonder about is how people don't even take note of solutions, while being busy to put the hammer on a company. That's something I don't get, and something I just can shake my head about.

Putting a hammer on a company? They made a lot of stupid decisions over the last years. And it doesn't help anyone if you sweep that under the carpet After the redundancies last december they should rethink their business strategy instead of acting like a bull in a china shop. Again: I dont get it!!!

How? The way I understand it, you just sell the upgraded version plus the upgrade.

Will the buyer not need a base product to make it activate because its an upgrade and not the full version ?

No way, you can activate Kontakt 5 or 6. Don't have to activate Kontakt 2 to activate them. It's just for the upgrade path.

"Activate" should rather read "authorize" in this case anyway.

I haven't done this with NI, but this is what I assume will happen. You will sell your Kontakt 6 (most recent product) The 2, 5 and 6 will disappear out of your account and only 6 will appear in the person who bought it's account. And your box product will be useless. Because you can only sell the most recent product. Technically, the prior products no longer exist, even if they still show in your account.

If you still have them installed, you can use them. And, if you don't, you can activate them until the 31st of May. Then you won't be able to activate them anymore on a new installation.

Problem is that they don't care about even the ones who create revenue for them.
The writing has been on the wall for some time with NI. They are more interested in selling sound expansions. I don't hate NI - I use their stuff less and less every year, because I've got stuff that's better.
