Patches keep changing in Cubase?

This may be a stupid question but im new to using Cubase.. When using some soft synths (Z3ta and Rhino I've noticed this with so far..) as output for a midi file, when I hit stop or when the song restarts from the beginning it resets to an unwanted patch. Example- in Z3ta each time I stop I get reset to "tube fm bass". Is there soemething I'm missing thats not updating or saving the settings? They work fine until stopping or end of song... and I havent had this prob with any other VST's as of yet. It's getting quite annoying having to avoid the song from restarting =).

I have the exact same problem when using reaktor as a plug-in in cubase sometimes.

Have you imported a midi file into your host because if the sounds are saved in a certain position say number 06 as soon as you press stop they will go back to yhe sound thats number six on that channel.
