when I had dongles I taped them to a back leg on my desk and ran a usb extension to my tower. If I were taking a laptop to do shows I would surely build a box I can lock and secure in the same manner I would my laptop and put a powered hub in it.

Thanx for recommendation! I need exactly a hub like the one you got (not for a CM dongle, lol).Ingonator wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2020 10:43 am I got an around 2 years (or a bit more) old HP Omen notebook which has 3 full size USB ports (USB-A) and 1 USB-C port.
To this USB-C port i got a hub with 4 USB 3.0 ports connected where my iLok 2 and eLicenser dongles are connected. So far i did not notice a single problem with this after more around 2 years of using it that way.
This is the USB-C to USB-A hub i am currently using:

And it is not just about the kind of dongle, but the actual implementation and the mentality of the company.

Why there's no presence of these 99% CodeMeter happy buyers on KVR? This board should be flooded with praise and awe for this move on changing the copy protection, instead it's all about anger, disappointment, confusion and sales of the 'used' product.

I am actually curious to know how MS would know this without a poll. As a customer I have not gotten any such poll, have others?
I think it is well known that most happy users don't post on forums to give praise, so indeed I don't doubt that the overall reception might have been positive, but without a poll how would MS know this (that anywhere close to 99% like it, surely 99% of his user base is not emailing him to say this). Surely equally unscientific would be emails from some customers saying yeah I am loving this new protection.

There are many happy buyers here. But as always, the minority of unsatisfied users always sound the most. We don't have the same urge to nag all day long.e@rs wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2020 8:33 pm Why there's no presence of these 99% CodeMeter happy buyers on KVR? Happy users don't post about it. I mean, what should they post? That they happily use the plugin?e@rs wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2020 8:33 pm Why there's no presence of these 99% CodeMeter happy buyers on KVR?
If you want, make a test for yourself. Count the people who have nothing to do but post negative things about the copy protection. I know this is not very scientific, because, KVR is not the center of the world (thankfully...), and, most users aren't on forums anyway. Just call it a interesting experiment.

Of course there are nowhere near 99% of satisfied users, the same way there are not 99% of customers against the cp. I think given the possibilities to look into forums like KVR, GS & Co, a look into the official Avenger fb group as well as other fb synth groups and a look into the many license transfers in multiple marketplaces, everyone can make up their minds for theirself and see the bigger picture.
Expecting a company to official state that their product has issues for many users is not smart. Not gonna happen. So I can get where the 99% comes from. Damage control from marketing perspective.
PS: I wouldn't care how many others have problems with the software, simpley because it does not solve a single issue for me. Getting told it works for others or on the devs machine, doesn't make me feel better.

One might think in general: some tips about designing certain sounds, discussion of skins or workflow, positng some results of your own work, a nice exchange about features, like... ...in probably all the other synth threads... Happy users post about happy features and experiences. But the only thing that keeps this thread alive are cp disucssions, so there might be some importance to that.chk071 wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2020 9:03 pmHappy users don't post about it. Hardly. Discussions about copy protections make a big part of the threads about other synths as well. Count the amount of people complaining, and see the people's names, and you'll realize that it's a very few part, and always the same names as well.
And, TBH, it's very annoying for the users who want to get info about the plugin as well. This kind of negativity doesn't help anyone, especially when everyone is free to decided for him-/herself, if you want to buy the plugin, or, generally, from the company or not.
I don't know how many times I wrote something similar now. And, it's pretty hopeless, but, hey, it's a free forum, right?

You have to admit there is a catch. Because users were already selling their licenses before the cp changedGregorius wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2020 9:03 pm Of course there are nowhere near 99% of satisfied users, the same way there are not 99% of customers against the cp. plus a lot of people just bend over and take it without saying anything. I am pretty sure thousands of people did not write them and thank them for the extra hoops they had to go through.
Really my only reason for being disappointed is because it is so damn confusing.

a poll? Seriously? I explain it to you. If you have 100 customers and got 1 support mail about a certain topic, then 1% has this problem. If you have 1000 customers and get 10 support mails, then its the same. If you have 10.000 and get 100 its still 1%...etc... so well, I can tell it quite exactly. Same in a Forum. If you have X customers and read X posts from X different people, you can calculate (after sorting out the "always moaning" and the multiple posters.zvenx wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2020 8:54 pm I am actually curious to know how MS would know this without a poll. believe it or not, the VAST majority of our customers arent even registered here. Why there's no presence of these 99% CodeMeter happy buyers on KVR? But of course this is all lies & conspiracy.
