People who constantly sell on the market place

I've seen it in quite a few forums, people who are constantly selling on the marketplace and/or have age old threads that are constantly updated with a long list of software - what's the crack? Are you guys just chronic compulsive remorseful buyers, or is selling 'used' licenses some kind of side business for you?
If it's a side business, where are you picking up your cheap licenses in the first place, because I'm assuming none of you are buying at rrp direct from the devs? Do you just buy in the sales then wait for that to finish before placing them for sale yourself?

Good questions.
Don't think that you can set up a real business with second hand plugins.
The possible sum to earn is too meagre.
Some guys are trying to earn a buck from give-aways, why not.
Most of these permanent sellers seem to hobbyists with more interest in trading plugins than making music with them.
However, it's a mystery...

Here are the applicable rules.
It's true that a lot of the items I see there are ones that were/are freebies on PIB or Focusrite Plugin Collective or Novation Sound Collective or whatever (not to mention free vouchers). No rule against any of that. And I agree with Calenberger that it would be difficult to make much of a living selling freebies.
I suspect some people consider this a way of trying a plug-in without demo restrictions, then getting some value back if they don't like it — worth the loss in value to have an extended demo.
That's just my guess. No way to know without asking sellers, and that would be disruptive to their threads. You could PM if you really want to know. Just be sure to keep it friendly, not accusatory, and don't be upset if the seller doesn't reply.
I interpret this to mean that a business can advertise deals in their online shop (or I suppose a "brick-and-mortar" one) on S&B, but not make sales on S&B as private sellers do.Ben [KVR] wrote:Although primarily intended for user-to-user second hand goods, developers and shops are more than welcome to post special offers / cross-grades in here too.

If you are not a private seller but are in fact a trader of some kind (whether representing a shop, an online commerce site or and independent reseller) you must make this known. However, dealers, pseudo-dealers, or any other person who has access to multiple licenses may not sell them here. Go to eBay, Amazon or elsewhere please.

she would buy so many, bedroom would look like a perfume shop.
if a brand she liked went on sale anywhere, 10 bottles would show up

I wouldn't be surprised if some people try to make a bit of money with this. I've seen a lot of odd stuff as well.
You surely won't get rich that way though. And, for me it's fine. Supply and demand.

My problem with acquiring stuff and needing to sell is just the fascination with the technology. It is interesting to check things out in detail. Sometimes I am more nerd and less composer.
