Don't buy anything from PA unless it's $29.99 or less, that's the "real" price except when a plugin is newly released.

Seems Oberhausen still has quite a few issues and bugs, which makes it less appealing to me. The Arturia version might have fewer bells and whistles but it's rock solid and stable.
Take a single oscillator, producing a drone. Send it to the wave shaper, altering the tone.
This can be a triangle, Sawtooth or a square. Modulate the pulse width, nobody will care

The TMT function appears to be buggy. I noticed on some sounds it was randomly panning some notes far left or right and needed the ol' switch-off-and-on-again treatment to fix.

Still, it sounds very nice.
This along with the velocity bug and the reverb bug seems like too many issues with this that probably won't be addressed. Think I'll stick to my original plan of Shadow Hills Class A and TRIAD. Really liked the sound of it though.

Anyone using this in Cubase 10.5? I can't get it to respond to Modwheel (and some of the patches won't save their coloured star when favourited..... very odd)
Also is not suppose to respond to the sustain pedal?

edit: ah it is the vst3 that is broken. the vst2 works responds to modwheel and sustain pedal.

I mailed this to PA Technical support, too. Of course.

But I am totally amazed about this bugs.
Thus funtastic sounding synthesiser was released April 19!

Today the vst3 version doesn't work togerther with sustain pedal and mod wheel.

And on the vst2 plugin when I use window resizing or when I open the effects it does generate graphical errors. Produces black arrears in the plugin which makes it unusable.

How can this be? I am totally greatful for the massiv discount the last days.

But these MAJOR bugs after almost a year? Please tell me I have a bad dream and can now back go my epic pad sounds.....

I haven't seen it at all for $29.99. Care to elaborate?

Yeah, welcome to PA's dire update schedule. From what I've read around here, it seems to take a long time to get updates through their quality assurance process, yet their quality assurance process often fails to spot obvious 'howler' bugs. End result is you've got a buggy product with the updates that fix it perpetually stuck in quality assurance limbo, regardless of the quality of the product right now as-sold. The only way to get prompt fixes from one particular PA brand is to follow their thread on KVR where they post 'beta' builds.

Subscribe to PA newsletter then sound you voucher codes almost every week to buy ANY plug for $29.99

For what its worth, bx_oberhausen sounds about as good as any analog emulation I have heard, but you can demo everything very easily for 14 days so try it!

Its true what is aid, nothing ever gets updated, nothing ever get fixed - it's more more more, cheaper cheaper cheaper... if you can live with stuff as is, get it for 30 bucks its a steal.

Demo before use, assume it will never change from the demo- bloody BYOME still never officially updated after years of bugs!
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Your Input ist appreciated.

I will Mail PA until the Last day of the Universe and will keep this thread on top of the list until eternity or until THIS MAJOR bugs are resolved.

Could be tomorrow.

But just by the way.

What an amazing synth sound! Holy cow of Batmans mother!!!!!
This monster feed into sonsiq reverb and you never need to watch Bladerunner again. (The original film)

What bugs are still open? I thought the reverb-mix-recall bug has been fixed already

in vst3 mode here in cubase on windows the modwheel and sustain pedal doesnt work. no midi incoming...

in vst2 mode MAJOR graphic bug. resizing or unfolding the effects cuts big junks of the plugin window away.

PA lets get rolling. i am waiting for an answer and opened a ticket with these question on march 5th.

sound of silence so far

especially vst3 is unuseable. big wow

the same problem here, in cubase pro 10.5, not in reaper (didn't try the other DAW's).
i bought this one as an extension to the SEM V2 (which i still like, i will use the most), but sustain i use a lot with the SEM (don't know why...), modwheel not useable... great..

bx_Oberhausen has a very rich raw sound without FX
Intel Core2 Quad CPU + 4 GIG RAM

Post

It has a phantastic sound! And this is the reason I will remind pa until beyond the last day of existence about the bugs

PA got back to my request to resubscribe me to the mailing list, and in doing so they gave me another $29 coupon and I ended up buying Oberhausen.

This has such a great sound and totally replaces my desire to get Arturias SEM. Now I'm just waiting for the Synapse Oberheim Emulation and I probably won't need another vintage synth emulation for a while.
