Hi,

iam searching for something within cubase oder logic (or fabfilter/soundtoys) which can display
a sound visually like in s(M)exoscope. Where you can see the peak at the beggining of a tom for example and afterwards the body of the sound. Where i can see what treshhold to use with my limiter/compressor or distortion plugin.

Thanks

IMO, that's the wrong approach... you should definitely go by ear, when using such effects.

Other than that, any oscilloscope plugin will do what you say. I use Vengeance Scope for that purpose (rather for analyzing, not to know what values to set up on a effect). It's free on their site: https://www.vengeance-sound.com/plugins ... EE%20Scope

No. Where did you get that from?

Edit: Oh, I see now. "VPS Scope is free, but you need at least 1 other (DONGLE) based plugin from us (everything except Avenger counts)". I got it from a Computer Music issue, and, there's no such requirement for that one.

That's eLicenser, by the way, not iLok.

You could just use the wave meters in the MixConsole of Cubase:
