So I got this working in Vienna Ensemble Pro Server 32-bit, in a Windows 10 VM in Parallels.

As with Reaper, the only way to get the GUI to work is to launch VEP Server as an Administrator. Once I did that, the Genesis GUI showed up in VEP, and I was able to use Genesis Pro from Bitwig on the Mac side.

No issues with crackling so far. CPU usage is definitely high, but even in the VM a single instance is fine.

Edit: There are some high CPU patches that are causing issues. SQ Raise Your Hands is especially bad. Keep in mind that single-core performance is the bottleneck here. You may have tons of excess CPU available (My Windows VM has 8 CPU cores, for example), but Genesis Pro is only going to use a single core, and is going to max it out on complex patches.

Will have to say that it does for sure have its own sound. Tried recreating the pad I made in another synth and really couldn't do it.
Genesis Pro does have some really nice options with the effects when you dig into it though other effects sound like utter garbage. THAT REVERB SUCKS YO

Still I will say again, the interface sucks because it's not so easy to find certain options because of all the menu controls. (Routing an LFO took some trial and error.)

If this synth had just been stripped back and a mod matrix put in / made more intuitive it would get more love. I wasn't expecting much at the outset but I think it's sound is really decent.

Once this synth gets the cpu usage right, this synth is going to be a beast. Good luck with this project, some of us are actually rooting for ya dude. :tu:

Why would you root for a person that breaks license agreements with third party developers that really made this synth possible? This makes me so sick..

Update: it is confirmed that all proper documentation will be released with next update

Maybe he did get the okay? Also like I said, those synths have been dead for like 5 years, there's no sites to get them from and in 2014 got posted as freeware.

Sure they could proceed with legal action but would cost too much now and be 100% pointless unless the guy wanted to be petty :hihi:

Commercial still requires credits with CK modules there are no credits included in this product. Being petty is stealing other peoples programming and calling it your own intellectual property . All he has to do is include the credits.. Chris is explicit and very clear about this.. It is the lowest thing a developer can do is violate someone else's code and if you don't care then your just as bad..

I'm more interested in why you suddenly decide to wake up from your sleep. A couple of posts in december last year, but otherwise nothing for over 2 years? There must have been larger infringement going on in this forum than this.

This really gets under my skin when millionaire dj's infringe on hardworking developers code only to release a non working plugin.

Ok, that's fair enough. Well, I hope there is some kind of explanation, otherwise Ummet hopefully sees this and takes necessary action.

Edit: Also, could be he didn't know this was needed. At least I didn't, but on the otherside, I don't develop for SynthEdit, so I'm not in the community. But I once bought a SynthEdit license (maaany years ago), that I never used, and I have lost it since :)
