My latest Reason was version 7.
Now I am “back” to music making and trying the new Reason11... Wow!
Maybe the biggest thing for me is how easy it is to go through refills! If I remember correctly, in Reason7 you needed to select a synth, then go through the refills to find sounds for that synth :help: Now I can just drag and drop from the refills to Reason

I know this is old new for most of you.
But I just wanted to share my amazement - and nope, I haven’t tried any vst yet.

Are we to expect a new post once you do? ;)

plugin version also very fun, I've played more than an hour with a note triggered Etch Red + Alligator Triple Filter Gate combo in Cubase :D

modulation sources are very versatile in it

It's a big leap, that's for sure.
Signatures are so early 2000s.

Get yourself a wide monitor like I have now and you will love Reason. I used to have a 4k monitor and it is not useful unless the monitor is like 43'' and over. But ever since I bought my wide screen 2560x1080p using Reason is a joy. Again I will buy another one but I'm not in a hurry.

I am just overwhelmed with all the RE & VST options at the moment :o
There is even a HUGE selection of free ones! Such a big difference to the days when you had only Reason’s own synths. But! There are so many options now so I can’t choose :D

Can you post a screenshot / photo of how you have your GUI laid out?

I'm harassing Reason Studios to implement this simple change:

A split screen alla Cubase, Digital Performer or Cakewalk. I like it. You will have my support on this request. I would just add a vertically squeezed version of the rack, so we could have it at the right, as in Cubase or Sonar. And (folowing Cubase GUI again) the possbility to alternate between the browser and the mixer strips in the left.

You mean you detach the rack/mixer and put them beside sequencer? That can't be very convenient as it gets messy every time you open Reason or new project, because it's not saved, right?

Yeah, totally! I hope they give us freedom on how to arrange the areas in Reason's window.

Yes, they aren't, but they certainly should (or else, they could have a screen layout menu, as the mentioned DAWs have).
