You do have to perform the authorization request from another machine connected to the internet, per our offline authorization FAQ at https://www.ikmultimedia.com/faq/index.php?id=1045Gamma-UT wrote: Wed Mar 18, 2020 6:35 pmIt's machine-locked though isn't it? IK is much the same unless things have changed dramatically. It looks like a serial number scheme but it is C/R under the hood.thecontrolcentre wrote: Wed Mar 18, 2020 6:30 pm Plugin Alliance have an offline activation system using a single keyfile.
The good news is that you can remove machines from the web page, but if PA goes down entirely, you ain't authorising anything.
This also means Wolfgang Palm/PPG synths (though not the Waldorf PPGv2/3) will go to C/R once PA takes over maintenance.
EDIT: Just looked again at the thread title. @Engee, you might want to change it as it doesn't quite say what you mean.
[List] Developers of instruments and synths using a serial or keyfile authorisation

The license.txt file it creates doesn't look like it can be used again if re-installed, even to the same system. I've tried this before - I removed my installation, then re-installed, and the license.txt file did not activate the library successfully. I had to log into my account and download a new license file.MrBauer wrote: Wed Mar 18, 2020 6:47 pm If not already mentioned, then maybe parawave. Last time I checked you create a keyfile in your account via a system ID shown in the plugin. It then creates a keyfile though it may only be valid for this certain system.

Okay thx. Then it's gone from the list I guess.OzoneJunkie wrote: Wed Mar 18, 2020 8:28 pmThe license.txt file it creates doesn't look like it can be used again if re-installed, even to the same system. yeah. The serial is for the installer only. To activate you still have to go online.replicant X wrote: Thu Mar 19, 2020 2:04 am D16 is same. They want to say it as serial. But need internet access and ID. Unbackuppable.

Thank you so much
I'll update the list soon.
I think I'll restrict the list to the companies that doesn't need online to activate the license in cases like reinstallation/update of OS, changing computer or the company gone bankrupt.
When you get the installation file and serial/keyfile you can backup those and use them later offline, can you do that?
So, it's something like a hardware. You buy it, you keep it and use it whether the company still exists or not
something like that!

I too don't buy software anymore that requires a third party to get it working after a new install.
