I'd rather ask myself why a ransomware scanner takes so long scanning only Avenger and not a single other plugin. Disabling the protection is definitive a Smarty McSmartface idea

You don't really want Acronis doing that stuff *anywhere* on your music computer. it's wasting resources.
Just do your backups by booting from a CD (as often as you want) and backing up that way. Then you know there are no "open files" or anything, so everything is safely backed up - *and* Acronis isn't interfering with anything while you're running music stuff.
Just my £0.02

When I setup my DAWs I made a point of excluding the directories used for music in the anti virus software, but I completely overlooked Acronis, so need to do some more config with that.jbraner wrote: Tue Mar 17, 2020 1:36 pm You don't really want Acronis doing that stuff *anywhere* on your music computer. it's wasting resources.

This issue does prompt the question about what is Avenger doing to the Cubase executable to pique the attention of Acronis that no other plugin does?

I’m thinking it’s time for me to get VMan soon also. I don’t need to refresh just yet, so if you beat me to it let me know how it works for you! I can confirm update 1.5.5 runs smoothly on Mac Catalina OS in latest Logic X update.noiseboyuk wrote: Mon Mar 16, 2020 8:27 am Public appeal - can anyone who has had issues with VMAN bricking their install please chime in here to say if their situation has resolved. I haven't heard anyone griping about it for a while, so I'm beginning to assume this is Internet Bias that people only complain about problems and much more rarely credit solutions. If I don't hear anything to the contrary in the next day or two, I'm going to assume that VMAN is working fine and will jump on that train.

Usage Conditions
1 You are authorized to use the Licenced Materials only for personal use.
Does anybody know what this means.
My question is can we use the output (songs) that we create ourselves, for commercial profit with a paid dongle connected ver?

I like to use lots of individual synth sounds on a track, you have previously said that it is too much work to make it multi-timbral. Can you make an option to save and load indivual oscs, then I can use the keyboard layers to fake multi-timbrality?

And now the press is discussing if the internet can cope with all the additional streaming loads coming from people staying home, streaming and doing home office with video conferencing etc. during Corona-Time ...
It is clear what would happen, if there would be a (local) internet blackout - try to 'reauthorize' your Avenger then ...

Where exactly have you read that? I know there has been discussions like forever about their sample packs and the licensing. But for Avenger that would be new and indeed the next bummer. You may also ask their support about it and post the answer because you'll hardly get an answer here.Soundcity wrote: Thu Mar 19, 2020 3:26 pm Usage Conditions

I've heard nothing from any disadvantaged users, so I'll be updating to the latest over the weekend, trying out VMAN and adding Synthwave 2noiseboyuk wrote: Mon Mar 16, 2020 8:27 am Public appeal - can anyone who has had issues with VMAN bricking their install please chime in here to say if their situation has resolved. So endlessly disappointing that people rush to the forums to gripe, and so rarely rush back when their problems are resolved. If there are issues I'm all for people raising them, but equally I'm all for good communication or - heavens - praise when things go right.

Guy, I didn't think I fit in the category you asked for but I guess in a sense I am in a faint way.
When I first used Vman it authorised something, but when I tired to use Avenger it said something about license not found or something, I said it on a post here, don't remember the exact wording. I think went on the website and did it over there and realised what it did....I had previously used the website to renew before the 90 days but I had a beta license in my account that I removed from the computer since the 1.5 was out. Seems that Vman then authorised that beta on the computer which apparently nullfies the use of the real license. Fortunately I was able to figure that and removed its authorisation from the computer and Avenger worked after that. I have since asked Rene to remove the beta from my account which he did promptly.
So I was bricked for about 10 minutes. Does that count?
