I'll look into that.grdh20 wrote: Sat Mar 21, 2020 1:09 pm Thanks for the update, Can you add a "Customize" button on the next installer so that on mac we can choose which things to install, such as un-ticking vst3?

Weirdly BitDefender won't let me even download the new Windows build (all previous builds have been fine). As soon as Chrome gets close to finishing the download I get a pop up from Bitdefender -

Guessing it's a false positive but I've not had Bitdefender preemptively block a download before. Normally it'll be when it's fully downloaded it get flagged as potential malware and then I'll upload the file for whitelisting - Obviously I can't do that in this case as it never finishes the download ...We blocked this dangerous page for your protection:

A lot of people asked for the drums John used in a video some weeks ago, so we decided to release them... Here it is... Everything you hear is from Unify only...

This should be easily doable with one of the great but discontinued PIZ plugins - midiChords:WatchTheGuitar wrote: Sat Mar 21, 2020 1:16 am Is there a free to use MIDI FX that works in Unify that lets you specify scales like A Minor Pentatonic?
http://www.vst4free.com/free_vst.php?pl ... ds&id=1642
You will have to set up the scales by yourself - use OCTAVE-mode (for having transposed the whole keyboard range) and decide where to transpose the "wrong" notes to f.e. c# to c or d etc. or omit them completely.
I think maybe the same should be doable with
https://trackbout.com/ripchord
V2 is just released - the player of it is part of Unify.
Maybe there are more or better suited (free) tools but these came to my mind first ...
Thanks a lot for your LFO-tutorial ... very helpful ...
Special thanks to John & Shane - I love Unify !
(just transforming all my Bidule-/Patchwork-/VIP-/Element-combi-sounds to Unify - so easy and practice-oriented - a joy to work with)
Regards
Rob

Virus-scanner programs can get a bit over-zealous sometimes. I've submitted the PlugInGuru_Unify_Win64_1.0.12.zip file to Bitdefender's site for you, BUT since in this case it's complaining about a "dangerous page", it's probably something about the URL itself it doesn't like, not the download. Please email this issue to John at UnifySupport@PlugInGuru.com, and he can send you a direct download link.mcbpete wrote: Sat Mar 21, 2020 3:20 pm Weirdly BitDefender won't let me even download the new Windows build (all previous builds have been fine). Ahh found a work around and successfully downloaded
For other Bitdefender users - I added http://pluginguruwebsiteproducts.s3.amazonaws.com/ to my exemptions list. Guide to adding specific URLs to the Online Protection module - https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/su ... swer/1519/
Getdunne - Not sure if this of any use or not but here's a list of VST2&3s that fail/crash the Unify scan on my machine: https://pastebin.com/fsYxatDn (a lot seem to be plugins from iZotope )

I should mention it here. In 2.2.11 I a left bug that led to this GUI behaviour. On 10th March I updateed dll's in the same 2.2.11 archive on my website (I should make a new version like 2.2.11b, but it was around the week and I was in rush). So it needs to be updated into unify package as well.dune_rave wrote: Sat Mar 21, 2020 1:41 pmSame problem here - I will try to install the whole thing -full installer again - .zoidkirb wrote: Sat Mar 21, 2020 3:43 am something weird happened with blue arp when i did the new unify and unify content update: i stopped being able to edit step type/octave/key select.

Quoting my own post to say at lunchtime (GMT here) I got this working with the free midiSimpleLFO from the PIZ set that RobKastler mentioned earlier. I've changed the steps below to reflect using that (simpler and more basic) MIDI plugin.
https://code.google.com/archive/p/pizmidi/downloads
FAO Shane, don't know if you're interested, but as it seems you aren't averse to resurrecting good functional abandonware these may be up your street. Simple tool MIDI FX for a bunch of situations like LFOs and a whole lot of stuff for filtering or generating MIDI notes and messages.
The PIZ tools are discontinued, but at the time of writing still available here...WatchTheGuitar wrote: Sat Mar 21, 2020 1:16 am 1. Add Unify to a track in your DAW (in my case tested it with Bitwig - yes I know that has world class LFO functionality, but I wanted the same shizzle in my other DAWs that aren't as well furnished with LFOs)
2. If you haven't done already add midiSimpleLFO to the list of MIDI FX plugins Unify knows about by clicking the left most icon at the bottom right of Unify (the one that looks like three stacks of dots and lines.
3. From the dropdown in the top left of the plug-in window choose MIDI Effects
4. Select "ALL My MIDI Effects.xml"
5. Browse the list in the middle for your MIDI FX which is to provide the LFO (in my case, midiSimpleLFO)
6. Once you've selected it, click 'Add Selected'
7. Hit Save then click the icon from step 2 to get back to the main Unify screen
8. Select your MIDI Effect layer (or add a new one) and click on "Add (or Swap) : ALL my MIDI Effects" and pick your MIDI FX
These next steps are specific to midiSimpleLFO , but hopefully help with other things
9. Inside midiSimpleLFO select the Waveform you want to use e.g. Sine
10. Set CC Out targets - I used 22 - that you can later map on your target instrument.
11. I set Waveform: Sine, CC Out:22, Channel Out:1, Freq Mode:Tempo, Frequency: 1 bar
12. I set up a second MIDI Effect layer and added a midiSimpleLFO, all settings same as above except this one
Waveform: Sine, CC Out:23, Channel Out:1, Freq Mode:Tempo, Frequency: half, Phase: 180, Offset: -10
---
13. The next bit is to set these CCs to register in your target instrument - I used Repro-5 with a great pad preset named "Like Faith" so these steps are specific to Repro-5
13. Click the red button in the top right hand corner to get a screen with some red options mostly in red. Click on "MIDI TABLE".
14. Use the Add button to enable you to add parameters and match them up with the CCs you set in step 10.
I used
Filter:Cutoff, Controller: 22 (all other options set to default)
Filter:Resonance, Controller: 23 (all other options set to default)
That all works, but you can also set up the Macro knobs e.g.
15. Right click on Macro 1, choose Linked Parameters, click the plus sign, find the specific thing in the next menus you want to map to the control e.g. midi/1/effect/1/Frequency

Thanks for the suggestion and link. I wouldn't try to resurrect this code directly because (a) it was licensed under the GPLv2 (see https://github.com/NuDogma/pizmidi) which forbids commercial use, and (b) it's pretty hoary. About half of it was built with JUCE, but 8 or 9 years ago, and JUCE has changed so much since then as to be unrecognizable. It will be easier just to write something new.WatchTheGuitar wrote: Tue Mar 24, 2020 3:29 pm ...

Yes, fixed pretty much. Program apparently didn't handle re-subscribe situation (internal server error). When "fixed" apparent double confirmation email(s) went to spam folder which may be more of an issue on my end (white list). I really only want the updates notification for Unify, not other news.getdunne wrote: Tue Mar 24, 2020 10:40 pmWas this fixed? Ah fair enough. I understand the torture of dealing with old codebases. Especially when people use undocumented tricks to get around dysfunctional APIs.getdunne wrote: Tue Mar 24, 2020 10:48 pmThanks for the suggestion and link.
