I looked up a post from Early Sept. Where Squids said the upgrade for $199 would be available soon for pre order. Did I miss it?

Post

The upgrade is available for pre-order. But, the upgrade from Sonic Synth 1 to Sonik Synth 2 is only available through Sonic Reality.

If you bought Sonic Synth 1 from us then you should have gotten an email newsletter with a link for the pre-order. Another one with a new link is being sent out on Monday. If you bought your Sonic Synth 1 elsewhere then all you have to do is contact sales@esoundz.com and show proof of purchase (sorry registration alone doesn't work because that was for ST1 LE!!! That is why it is an upgrade only available through us because it is different than the norm where your registration automatically qualifies you).

Ways to show proof of purchase are faxing or emailing your receipt for the purchase of the product. If you don't have that then you'll have to figure out a way to show that you are the original licensed purchaser of the product to qualify for the discounted upgrade.

By the way, Sonik Synth 2 is even larger than what is advertised and the number of sounds included is really THOUSANDS more than you may be expecting. So, this upgrade deal may be a little too good. But, we're going to honor it through the initial launch of the product only and then it will go back to just full price. (which is still an incredible deal actually... but you'll see ;) ).

Will we have a couple weeks after your final launch to decide?

Yes, more than a couple weeks. At least a month.

Yes. In fact, I think both the upgrade pre-order and the full version pre-order will officially be up in about a week. Then deliver should be mid-November.

Warning: you will need a DVD player to get the sounds off the discs. You'll also need some space on your hard drive. :o

how will the sounds be categorized? by instrument emulation or sound category or what?

Folders for the type of sound it is. There's a section on synths, keyboards, guitar+bass, brass+winds, drums+perc, strings+orch, vocal textures, SFX and elements. The elements section is larger than Sonic Synth 1 itself I believe.

Yes. Just show some proof of purchase of your Sonic Synth 1 to sales@esoundz.com and you can get the upgrade.

I just found an E mail that I overlooked a month ago that had the link to the pre order. How long will the $199 offer be good for?

I have the same question. I searched through the email with the preorder link and also the page with the offer and wasn't seeing a deadline date for this. Obviously I'm in a hurry to get this  but if I have to the end of, say, November, my wife will probably ask me to wait a couple of weeks :(

By the way, Sonic Synth 1 with the everything bundle has revolutionized my workflow (it's my first "SoftSynth"), not to mention some awesome sounds! Squids, do I remember correctly that you did some of the sounds for the Roland JV expansion cards? I have an XP30 and the sounds off the Keyboards of the 60's and 70's have been my goto sounds for live stuff for quite a while now. Just wondered if you had anything to do with those.
Thanks!
Jon

Phew! I'll need at least that until I can afford it.

We'll do the upgrade through December 31 and that's it. So, next year for Sonic Synth 1 owners it will be full price (plus your regular discount from wherever you get it). There may still be a cross-grade discount next year for ST2 XL owners but it will be more money than this introductory offer.

At this point, with it being 4 times the size of Sonic Synth 1 and a whole new set of features, DSP, patch types, editing/performance control, interface, expanded platform compatibility etc. it really is a whole new thing! It's worth the full price to a Sonic Synth 1 owner to get all of these things (it's almost like a "best of" legacy sounds are just 'thrown in' amongst thousands of new sounds). However, we like to give opportunities to give back to our customers, to show our appreciation for their support as much as possible. But, of course, the other purpose of an introductory offer is to start it off with a bang! More users out there with it and talking about it in the beginning the better. So, it could work out well for both really. Just so you know what we're thinking on this, honestly. I am always trying to achieve this balance of what is good for the customer and good for us at the same time.

Dec 31! That should be about right! Thanks Squids.
