How i can make it sound like this ? It says theres only reverb but i dont think so
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TzvWw8T-6cw

Post

Yeah that's pretty much how a real JX8P sounds, and it indeed is just some reverb in that video, unless some patches also use the built-in chorus.

Post

Well ive heard other videos and it did not sound like on 2:10 no way.
High end is silky smooth unlike other videos and vsti.
Which sounds harsher , like this on 2:13:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aa7eDQi-njM

So wheres the damn magic , i want it
Some magical reverb smoothing out hi end harshness ?

Post

It really depends how the audio was recorded. That first video you posted, it says in the comments: JX-8P went through Alesis Multimix for some reverb, into Roland R-05. So I suppose it really might be that reverb in Multimix doing its magic.

It also seems that the guy from first video might have tweaked some patches slightly, as it seems that the Hi Strings patch has a longer envelope release time...

Post

the first video at 2:10 is "P6 Lo Strings",
the 2nd video (from paolo) at 2:13 ist "P7 Hi Strings"

those are different patches

sound to me quite the same in the video as on the real jx8p as in pg8x...imho...

edit: i mean:
video vs real jx vs pg8x sound imho quite the same, but
P6 LoStrings vs P7 HiStrings aound quite different

Post

The first video also has P7 Hi Strings at a bit later timecode, check it out.

I really like the sound of this synth but is it normal that the volume is very low? There is a reason for that?

Post

There's a slider that adjusts global volume by up to 12 dB.

Very interested in seeing this as AUv3.

Is somebody succeeded to run Mac VST on MacOs Catalina?

I think that it can't be notarized - at least this is the reason why PluginGuru removed it on the latest update

https://pluginguru.net/unify/change-log.html

"PG-8X synthesizer plug-in has been removed from the basic Unify package, as it cannot be notarized for MacOS Catalina."
