Yo Jas! I think we have always thought alike, just that we differ in where we go with our "alternative" takes on "misappropriate" genres :D :D :D

Hey fellow OSCers, here is my submission for this month. I originally wanted to make synthwave but I love complextro and haven't heard any for some time and I could not resist making a complextro track this week. It's basically made for the party with complex basslines, groovy beats and some rock influences. Hopefully you guys enjoy.

Here is the track:
https://soundcloud.com/tensorman/solid

Here's my entry, I quite like this plugin at the end, it has some quirks and a nice sound overall.

I noticed one interesting feature: the percussive sound, based on small attack/decay filter settings, sounds like snare at 110 bpm and quite different, closer to electronic ride, at 120 bpm. Strange dependence of the a / d filter on the host's tempo. There was something similar in Syncla-X, which made my hi-hat sound like it had been processed by the flanger effect. Why am I saying this... Well, even such a emasculated synth can challenge, it is necessary only to dig a little deeper! So far, out of my 4 OSCs, the only tool without surprises was OB-Xd)

I am not really lucky with this string machine. It is very very limited! That’s why i used so much effects. And i also had no idea what kind of „music“ i should do …. so i make chaos …..

If you guys think, that I tortured synth a bit too much this time - let me know, I can withdraw from the contest. It was quite hard to make white noise type of sound - it is detuned oscillator with maxed out built-in reverb played on a low key. Then I high-passed this signal, pretty much leaving only reverb tail, compressed and increased the volume through plugins. Additionally to make clap sound, I had to torture the synth through automation, so that volume envelope look something like this I\I\I\.

Also someone mentioned plugin count on soundcloud. Since i hadn't any performance problems, some tracks have been doubled for playing different parts(because I was a bit lazy to do automation of some parameters) so this increased plugin count, which would be lower if not my laziness. :D

I think transparency is the key. No need to withdraw at all from my point of view. There are different feelings about this kind of thing, no clear rule or consensus. Many past winning tracks have used techniques that many people don't like.
Just telling people how you've worked is awesome, :tu: , then if people feel the need to vote down 'cos of it that's their business in this 'vote however you see fit' model we have going.
And... nice track :)
