Hey guys, I was recently looking to upgrade my speakers and get the Adam T7V, and then I realized my setup is in the dead corner of my bedroom and that will probably mess the audio output a bunch. The acoustics of my rooms isn't too bad because I do have my bed and curtain right next to my setup so its not an empty space but I assume the corner would mess with the audio. Im not sure if just messing with the EQ and output level of the speaker in the corner could fix the problem or maybe theres a better speaker for this situation. Thank you in advance for any advice.

Hmm. I'll go against the common wisdom of getting monitors and suggest mixing-grade headphones instead. Neither monitors or headphones are perfect for mixing, for their own reasons (both have pros and cons) -- but if you are in an untreated room, and if you can't get monitors into a good physical location in that space, headphones will at the very least eliminate bad room acoustics as a variable. You'd need to reference your mix alonsg-side a well-known album in a car, on a mobile phone, etc, but that doesn't seem like too big a hoop to jump through in exchange for the pros of headphones in a bedroom studio.

If you decide to go the monitor route, you'd probably want small, near-field monitors and run them at a very quiet volume to minimize reflections.

Phones and one monitor might complement each other well.

In this day and age I most definitely do not recommend people get studio monitors in acoustically unoptimized rooms.

I'd definitely go for a good pair of headphones and a decent headphone preamp instead. Depending on your budget of course. Skip the amp if you only have a little to spend.

Then with these headphones, combine it with something like Toneboosters Morphit plugin (make sure your brand and model of headphone is supported) and GoodHertz CanOpener (yes, both in series).. do a bunch of critical listening practice and mixing practice and you'll start making better mixes.
