I just checked the site, and it seems to be working fine for me. (at work with Chrome Browser on Windows 10).

Yes, it apparently was a system upgrade taking place when my hand held a pair of threes But the site is speedier according
to comments in the Announcements area, maybe a full house
will be forthcoming

Gonna try and find a Goodwill/Salvation Army computer
to experiment on over the weekend

There's a 3 hour video with the brains of Sunset Sound Studio in LA, discussing mix/master strategeries, and IK's plugin that captures the essence of the studio, plus one of the presenters
brought in actual Beach Boys tracks to discuss and demo with the new plugin. And some cool tunes were posted by
'Squids', who played a goodly role in promoting the
creation and use of the plugin. Good and friendly popcorn vid.

The great LinVst (windows .dll plugin wrapper) now has a gui

There is already an Arch Linux package available,
but it should be an easy compile for .deb and .rpm distros
until installable packages are created.

Yes, the future is bright, and the whole diversification of LinVst
to multiple versions dealing with various use cases, is quite amazing.
It's simple just using the original LinVst, but this gui will be a boon
to people eager to take advantage of all that has become possible.

Audio Assault have been making linux versions of their
collection for a while now, I just tried their new Sigma amp-sim
with IR loader, and it's quite a jewel. High-gain amp
if so desired.

It's free for the moment, and they'll ask for an email at the shop,
but are not mass spammers, just useful product announcements etc

IR junkies should love this product. The download asks if you
would like to buy their Duality Bass Studio plugin, for $9.99,
and it get's good reviews from ufug, AlexTheBassist and
gmaq, musician and creator of the long-running debian based
AVLinux musician-focussed linux distribution ( http://www.bandshed.net/ )
The above fellows all know their stuff.

Audio Assault Aural-Verb plugin will be nice to use with Sigma,
before or after a U-he ColourCopy delay, very good times for
the guitarists out here

I think EnergyXT was actually ahead of it's time. I used to use
the windows version in wine. There was trouble during a major upgrade, as some crucial features were lost in translation,
which divided the public opinion. The talented developer was not,
as far as I know, leading a team of coders, and at some point,
the project came off the table.

I have not searched lately, but I imagine various versions
with various capabilities are 'out there' for use. As I recall,
there were even a few built-in synths as part of the deal.

Likely a lot of discussion in the far earlier pages of this topic,
if interested. I see no reason why great music couldn't be made
using any desired version of XT, assuming hardware compatibilty.

AVLinux is a full featured bootable/installable distro
with lot's of capabilities configured, and apps installed,
ready for a record button. The developer has slightly
cut back his man-hours, but remains active in discussions,
with probably a major release each year, or a serious bug-fix
release, if any were discovered. There is also documentation
helping with various uefi boot issues that might occur.
I think wine and linvst plugin wrapper are also installed,
making it easy to get some favorite windows plugins
in use.

A windows app called rufous is handy to make a bootable
usbstick from an avl or other linux .iso file.
There are user and admin passwords on the website,
somewhere in:

I use mainly Studio 1337, and Ubuntu Studio, with a fast
Bodhi linux on an ssd, with the Moksha (modern Enlightenment spinoff) gui.

Studio 1337 has ceased developement, and the author has
generously left the files up for downloads, link is in this topic:

The 1337 author prepared his own realtime kernel, compiled the
included apps with it, and it runs from ram, and rather on the
fast side

It has zynaddsubfx, hydrogen, guitarix and rakarrack,
among other things, so synth, drums, guitar,
and multi-effects are ready for use. At first shutdown,
you'll be prompted to have a savefile created, a squash filesystem
to hold your settings, which is expandable as you need.
Can be encrypted, and has several initial sizes up to 4 gig.
Enlarging can be done in larger sizes, like 32 gig etc.

Lots of good distro choices these days. The KX-Studio project,
like AVLinux, is more streamlined these days, not supporting
some quite older linux systems, but most
linux musicians using modern debian or ubuntu-and-spinoffs
will have it's repository of musicians apps added
to their package manager. A few cut/paste commands
found on the kx website, are all that is needed to have
the apps available in the package manager.

some memory lane moments

Have you tried loading the windows energyXT v1.4.1 plugin
in linux reaper, wrapped by linvst? That would be
pretty powerful duo

Great to see persistance, cooperation and results.
I use linux reaper, windows reaper in wine,
Mixbus, and Bitwig 8track, when daw apps are needed,
but I try to use linux itself as the daw,
as much as possible, since I don't do
heavy track-count productions. Individual daw apps then become
mere well featured standalones, integrated
in the larger environment. Lots of linux standalones
and connectivity are at the ready for modest sized productions
that are still rewarding in the end.
