Maybe it's just me, but I miss all of the context.
In other words: where is that track, what kick with numbers, what the feck are you mumbling?

I think he's trying to compare Sonic Academy's Kick2 with NI's Trk01.
My response (as always): demo them and find out.

Yes seriously. Big deal if I like it. It's you that will be using it so only you can decide.Rudegar wrote: Wed Apr 01, 2020 10:03 am @mushy mushy
Seriously...
I'm not sure Forums like this would exist with this type of input.
I love Kick2 but hate TRK01. Does that help you at all? Of course not.

Maybe not. But, that doesn't mean that demoing won't be the better option compared to relying on external opinions anyway.Rudegar wrote: Wed Apr 01, 2020 10:03 am @mushy mushy

I know my comment came off as rude but these questions absolutely baffle me. Do people buy stuff just because others like it? Apparently yes.

Short answer: yes, Trk 01 ie. its kick section can be a valid alternative to Kick 2. Sound quality is on par (at least, depending on your preferred style/genre maybe even superior in some cases), there's a wide variety of possible sounds, and it's really easy to use.Rudegar wrote: Wed Apr 01, 2020 9:24 am Hi All,
Is Kick in Trk 01 at all similar to Kick 2, Could it possibly be a poor man's substitute?
Longer answer: With Kick 2 you get more options, no doubt about that. Whether or not you could be happy with only Trk 01 depends on how deep you want to go with your kick drum design. If you're fine with basic controls over pitch, envelopes, etc., and just want to tweak a little bit here and there, you should fine with Trk 01. It's more like some kind of "plug-n-play kick generator" with just the right amount of controls–which is what I especially like about the plugin.
However, if you want to layer custom samples (be it kicks, attack noises, or whatever) seamlessly within just one plugin, want to edit the pitch/volume envelopes in great detail, get better visual feedback about what's going on–then Kick 2 would be a better choice.
Personally, I could live without Kick 2 as long as I have Trk 01

Well, if you could go into a retail store for plugins and you couldn't decide between this and that plugin, many people would probably also ask the staff for their opinions–even if there were computers with demos of both plugins. A forum is a place to communicate, and answers like "stop asking other people and go make your own assumptions" baffle me way more than those questions to be honest.Mushy Mushy wrote: Wed Apr 01, 2020 10:10 am I know my comment came off as rude but these questions absolutely baffle me. But why would somebody do that anyway? Let's say I go into a phone store and ask the salesperson behind the desk if they like the new Galaxy or iPhone more, does that mean I'll feel the same? Of course not.Sim.Sky wrote: Wed Apr 01, 2020 10:17 amWell, if you could go into a retail store for plugins and you couldn't decide between this and that plugin, many people would probably also ask the staff for their opinions–even if there were computers with demos of both plugins. The only solution is to try both. Perhaps then you notice a feature on the Galaxy that seemingly isnt on the Apple so you would then ask about that functionality specifically.
