Hi

Can any help :help:

If I set up loads of VSti (Kontakt, Z3ta+, V-station) in Cubase but switch them to standby. so i can quickly select or deselect them depending on the type of project i am doing. will it eat up memory? Or is standby completely switching them off.

(Before I embark on another crazy idea!!)

As far as I know, most will not use CPU if loaded but switched off, though some might still use a negligible amount (not enough to be bothered about though).

I do just that rather than fart around with Freeze which seems to irritate alot of people. Render to audio, then keep the VSTi channel and turn it off. Which is pretty well what freeze is anyway.

cheers for that....

Yea I never understood freeze.....Its like all the "waiting" of doing a mixdown...without being able to edit it???

My idea was that i thought i could load quite a few fave instruments and just have them turned off and save as a Cubase template. So i've always got a few faves at hand if i need them.

I spend so much time naffing around when i'm tring to write music so i'm just trying to get the good sh*t at hand...... ready to go if you get me :o

Thanks again :)
