Ah yes thank you, now I see it in black and white: "installing V11 alongside V9 may cause temporary loss of access to the V9 plugins on systems that do support both versions. We are aware of this issue and it can be repaired by reinstalling V9.92 plugins or contacting Tech Support.”
Why, it is almost like it's a known bug, but - gracious - somehow I did exactly the right thing. One might think I didn't deserve to be treated like a complete moron by yourself, but I know that can't really be the case since I am, truthfully, indescribably stupid. If anything you've been too kind by far, and thank you for noticing me.
Now, I've taken up far too much of you and your dizzying intellect's time, there must be other imbeciles to correct on the forum. Off you go, and God speed in your mighty work!

Sorry, if it came off a bit harsh, but I'm baffled by the constant moaning about Waves installation process, about WUP and so on. There's literally nothing wrong with it nor is it particularly difficult nor is there anything wrong with WUP. And yet people keep whining and posting complete nonsense which could be avoided by taking literally 3 minutes to RTFM on Waves site.noiseboyuk wrote: ↑Sun Apr 05, 2020 3:57 pm Why, it is almost like it's a known bug, but - gracious - somehow I did exactly the right thing. Not to say that people are not having any problems with Waves, but it's quite obvious that most of the cases are down to user error. It's like installing a Waves plugins is a kind of IQ test that many tend to fail.

...no doubt there's some of that, robotmonkey. But I - and other pro colleagues - have had a ton of genuine installation issues with Waves over the years. Today was just one more, relatively minor compared to some of the others I and others have had.

From what I know, Windows updates can change the priority of your Ethernet adapter, meaning that what used to be the main adapter will now be secondary and thus Waves Central will see another MAC address.MogwaiBoy wrote: ↑Sun Mar 15, 2020 1:20 am Windows updated and now my Waves V9s don't work. Waves Central says the licenses are "unrecoverable"...
All I need is a proper alternative to Waves Lo-Air and I can avoid Waves forever.
Keep your "well I don't have any problems with my licenses" comments to yourselves, please

(a quick addendum to anyone else who has to apply the temp v9 fix after installing a new plugin in Waves Central. While Cubase just sees the new version of plugins, Pro Tools had duplicated plugins for everything. Navigate (in Windows) to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins , find the WaveShell1-AAX 9.92.aaxplugin folder, and move it to Plugins (unused).)

"Below are three license version scenarios. Each scenario includes a few secondary scenarios, such as activation and Waves Update Plan status.
Pick your scenario from the list of questions below, and they will take you to the instructions you need:
All of my licenses are Version 11.x.
Some of my licenses are Version 11.x and some are Version 9.x or 10.x.
All of my licenses are Version 9.x or 10.x."
What could go wrong?
