I'm trying to emulate the D-Mob/De La Soul type rap thing in the middle.
Just say stuff.

cheers! CB

not really my thing over all, though I did like the female vox. If that's somebody you know/recorded, I want to hear more.

The drop/breakdown at 0:51 is very sudden/unexpected, and leaves the track really empty. Imho you could cut that particular section in half (or a quarter) and get the same effect without losing everybody on the dance floor.

tbph, your rap does absolutely nothing for me. I guess I'm not really the target audience, so maybe some nice Lady would like to give her thoughts.

transition from the rap to the chorus is much better than the first breakdown, because there's actually something going on under the filter sweep.

Overall it reminds me of DJing high school dances.

Cheers guys,

the vocals are from an english vocalist called Sade (pronounced Shah-Day), i remixed the track (sweetest taboo) years ago and only recently stumbled across it again. the geezer who wrote and spoke the rap doesn't often lay his voice down so I thought I'd take the opportunity to use his knowledge of rap to whip up some flow in the 90's style.

i guess we succeeded!

it isn't yet complete which is why those filtered breaks still exist.
