Why does Sforzando do this? It's simple! They want you to download War Tuba in order to get high-quality tuba sounds!
Sforzando is a biased SoundFont sampler VST

How, you ask? Firstly, many instruments that have the word Tuba in it sounds like this when imported. There's nothing wrong with the SoundFont itself. It's the player. I used a different SoundFont player called sfz, and it works perfectly fine.

This even happens with other instruments like the organ! The VST purposefully makes them sound off so you can download their version of it made specifically for Sforzando.

This wins the prize of nuttiest thread of the week. Plogue doesn't even produce the War Tuba - that's from Karyofer, a third party. And it's free. So, it's a mystery what Plogue might get out of this "bias".

That's my reading as well. But only if they have the word "tuba" in the name.Erisian wrote: Tue Apr 07, 2020 3:50 pm I think the OP is saying that non-Sforzando soundfonts sound bad in Sforzando in order to persuade you to buy Sforzando sound fonts.
Easy enough to verify: sfz files are plain text, so edit a few things and see if anything changes. But since Sforzando was released quite a few years before War Horns (made by a third party and isn't even a soundfont!), this'd be quite a long-term and pointless conspiracy to corner the market in the valuable tuba sounds, err, market.
Kinda like when John Dvorak posited back in the '90s (maybe late '80s?) that Windows was just a plot to oust WordPerfect from the top word processor (something about how WordPerfect had better printer drivers, so Microsoft changed the architecture).
Wait... loot _then_ burn? D'oh!

Well, unfortunately, the OP didn't write about what problem he/she got into with soundfont in sforzando but instead made a weird judgement.
Who knows somebody here can offer help
And for so long, this is the first time i see a person mad at Sforzando
