We are happy to introduce to you our newest effect plugin: Solidus VS8100

Image

Solidus VS8100 is an analog simulation of the iconic Marshall® Valvestate™ 8100 solid state amplifier of the 1991.

The original head was the first incarnation of the Valvestate™ series, a solid state amplifier with a 12AX7 tube as a driver for the distorted channel tone stack, which defined the history of death metal through the 90s. It featured two channels: a Normal channel, for clean guitars, and a Boost channel for distortions.

We carefully modeled the original amplifier and added some goodies to further shape your guitar tone: a noise gate, a modern overdrive, a EQ/Booster (to make your own custom clean booster), a post-amp 5 band EQ and a Dual Cab Loader.

Integrated cabinets provided by Dr Bonkers Sound Lab, Valhallir.at and Seacow Cabs

A personal note
This is the amp that shaped by teenage years. I loved it so much and I'm very happy of the results I got here. I hope you'll love it as well. Enjoy!

Cheers,
Luca

Many years ago, I had one which I bought for $50 when I was young and broke. It was probably the best $50 I've ever spent in music gear in my life. That amp was in so many shitty gigs in Europe and the US... and it never failed. Now that I have a nice "boutique tube amp collection" (which I don't play anymore since I got a Kemper), I kind of miss having something like this. A friend of mine from work still uses one to play (wait...) jazz (I now, right?).
Super fun thing to offer, Luca, Congrats! :tu:

Like back in high school - all they had were shitty Valvestates in the music rooms.

I do not want to relive those awful amps

Another VERY lovely plugin from Audiority. The videos show only a small fraction of what this amp sim can do. The clean and crunchy tones are even better IMHO. This made it immediately to the top of my most used guitar plugins and as you know the competition is tough lately. Great job!

The only thing I'd love to see improved is the UI of the cab IR loader. It works fine and serves it's function, but it's not as "wow" as the sound (yet) :)

I wonder when it is Luca opens the door and there's a nice, corona-free Hiwatt amplifier waiting on the doormat.

Luca's brain explodes, he grabs the damn thing and rushes to his studio room. After 2-3 three months we hear Audiority releases Davie G amp.

Whoops, I was dreaming with my fingers on the keyboard. Nevermind.

You were lucky to have rooms, we had no roof or walls at our school. It was all open air back then but you try and tell the young people today ... and they won't believe ya'.
Anyone who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.

Tempted to buy just for the included pedals haha. Mxr style 10-band eq as well as the boost are wise inclusions.

That boost sounds phenomenal. It adds another gain stage and seems to do a great job of adding more distortion and thickness without changing the character of the sound like a lot of pedals or gain plugins do.

We have been asked of it compares to the real hardware, so we made a quick A/B comparison video. Enjoy!

That's a pretty crazy accurate model. Impressive stuff. The tone and character of the amp are on point. The better modelers typically seem to only capture one of the two. This does both. Well done.

Sorry to bother you again but is there any ETA for the patch that will include the standlalone version?

Post

We are releasing a bugfix patch today, while v1.1 with the standalone version should be ready by June. We need to make some tests to the channel settings and the OSX Catalina extra requirements, then we'll update both L12X and Solidus with the standalone version included.
