I need it cause of a couple of projects, but its broken. When I click knob it jumps to the max position, and it triggers outside of program OS commands like the side panel. and the cursor jumps out of the screen.... pretty crazy.

I've had similar issues in Cubase Artist 10.5 with the latest version of Synth1... guess it's simply been too long since the last update, and, some things stopped working.

That's basically it folks. If you've made any changes to your OS and/or DAW since you last used Synth1 where it was working and it no longer works, you're out of luck. Synth1 hasn't bee updated in years and it's likely it won't be. Mine has stopped working "properly" as well. Sometimes, with some serious crashes attached to it.

Have you tried turning off the floating value bars that show up when you klick/change a knob? Synth1 was unusable for me before I did that.

Check the CMOS battery? Sometimes old synths freak out pretty badly once the battery dies. They're often soldered in but replacing them isn't too hard.

I just checked to see if "my" Synth 1 still works and yes it does, Win 10 latest updates. I didn't try using it in a project but having a nice play it worked fine and reminded me it's still a great synth all these years later.
If you think about it Synth 1 has been bulletproof through several Operating Systems. From Win XP (and perhaps even Win98) all the way through Win 7,8, and now 10. No telling how many versions of Mac it has worked on over the years.
I'm willing to bet that due to the bizarre behavior the OP is reporting that it's something else at play.

TBH, I'm a bit confused about my first post now... I remember I had issues with the GUI, IIRC, whenever I tried to adjust the parameter values over that bar which pops up, it rendered the GUI in another place, when I stopped tweaking. I first thought that it was in Studio One, but, pretty sure that it was in Cubase Artist, because it seems to work OK in Studio One now.
Maybe someone can confirm that it doesn't work properly in Cubase 10.5.

I don't own any version of Cubase but I just tried in Cakewalk by Bandlab and although the GUI doesn't move when adjusting using the slider there is a slight visual jitter when moving from parameter to parameter.
As someone mentioned earlier try turning off Slider Window in the Options. Turning it off stops the jitter here.

No trouble here: W7 Bitwig 1
That said, Synth1 is my main synth.

My only suggestion is to try running it through another loaded vsti that supports loading other vstis. I believe you can use the vsti version of FL Studio as a bridge this way, too. I don't know much about Apple OSes unfortunately.chk071 wrote: Sat Apr 11, 2020 5:57 pm I've had similar issues in Cubase Artist 10.5 with the latest version of Synth1... guess it's simply been too long since the last update, and, some things stopped working.

I was reminded today just how good Synth 1 still sounds and the range of sounds it can make is really impressive given the rather simple architecture compared to today's synth beasts.

I loaded some V112 synth1's in linux reaper, with Kugashi and BigTone sounds, certainly the things talented sound designers do with Synth1Teksonik wrote: Sat Apr 11, 2020 10:27 pmI was reminded today just how good Synth 1 still sounds and the range of sounds it can make is really impressive given the rather simple architecture compared to today's synth beasts.![]()
is close to audio heroics. A pleasure to browse and use the sounds,
as always.

Yes, but that's not all: it has a ridiculous low CPU usage. So I take a preset for instance, alter it like 50 times and then pick half a dozen of these created sounds and mix them together.Teksonik wrote: Sat Apr 11, 2020 10:27 pmI was reminded today just how good Synth 1 still sounds and the range of sounds it can make is really impressive given the rather simple architecture compared to today's synth beasts.![]()
